I just purchased a GPX HC208B lastnight. Today it will not work...Nothing!!! The blue backlit LCD Display lights up but the digital clock does not work. The remote control doesn't work, and the manual controls on the system do not work. Also included in the non-working list is the CD player, AM/FM radio, sleep timer, and program. It worked great lastnight, sounded terrific, I was very happy but this morning was like it never worked at all.

Unfortunately, GPX has, in my experience, a poor reputation for quality. I wouldn't delay either exchanging it or filing a warranty claim once you are sure you have done your homework and have things set up correctly.

Try a "Laser Lens Cleaner" one that uses fluid, you can find them at just about any electronics retailer for 15-20. Run it thru a couple times and try your cd again. If it plays, make sure you clean it 3 or 4 times a year. It's the only preventative maintanance you can do. If it still won't play, it need service, if it's just an am/fm/cd without a changer etc. your better off replacing the unit. The repair will run from 125-175 on average. They just replace th cd transport. Hope this helps
