I'm having the same problem trying to get my PS2 to work without a remote.

I have the game mode "on" on the menu. It will not allow me to do anything. I'm even having a hard time trying to find a replacement remote now.

I have the same TV model displayed here, WF 2720, and searching for a remote now.

I haven't found a way without a remote except to unplug everything except a vcr or dvd, no other channel inputs and run the channel set up function. It will only recognise the one it can read and it will only leave you with the game channel... give it a try.

Cant put sylvania dwt1905 on game mode with rca universal remote

You can't select its game mode, with this remote control.
If you wish to buy a genuine remote control, you have to contact the authorized service center. If you wish to buy a universal remote control, you should know about, which brand remote control have set-up codes to your TV brand, and buy that one according to availability. The first thing you have to do is, to confirm the number of digits in the setup codes to your TV brand. There are 4 digit, 5 digit, 3 digit and even 2 digit codes. You can make it sure by entering '0s' at the code enter window the TV dispays, and asks codes. Enter 'Zeros', and count how many zeros can be enterd. That number will be the number of digit of setup code, the TV/Device need. If you can enter 5 zeros, the number of digit in the set-up code to your TV is a '5' digit one, if only 2 zeros can be enterd, the number of digits in the set-up code to your TV should be a 2 digit one, and so on.. If you wish to get more details about this, try the sites linked here.
Both the sites have setup code list, and setup procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy.

Please try the following:
  • With the TV on, press the Menu button which will take you to the main menu
  • Then select the "Setup Menu" and press enter
  • Select "Game Mode" and press enter
  • Select "On" and press enter
  • Then press Exit to leave the main menu
These steps should get you going, however if you have trouble please tell me the exact model of your Samsung TV and I can give you further instructions:

Tv is stock on tv mode. How to change to game mode?

You need the remote to change to game mode. The original remote doesn't appear to be available. A substitute remote with the function is here: . The Game button switches to and from game mode. Other universal remotes may work but a source or input button is needed. Then try various codes for either Durabrand or Funai TVs (Funai built the TV). The other issue is that the remote needs to have been programmed at least 6 months after the TV was released. The remotes that are programmed via a USB connection to a computer will definately be able to match the function.

I hope this helps.

How do you put the tv in game mode without a remote

Follow the steps below to switch your TV to game mode without using the remote:

1. Connect the game system to the TV using the AUDIO/VIDEO inputs on the FRONT of the TV.
2. Switch the game system on.
3. Press the "MENU" button on the front of the TV
4. Use the "CH" UP/DOWN buttons on the TV to highlight the "PICTURE" option. This is the first option so should already be highlighted.
5. Press the "VOL UP" button to select this option
6. Use the "CH" UP/DOWN buttons on the TV to highlight the "GAME MODE" option. This is the first option so should already be highlighted.
7. Press the "VOL UP" button to change the GAME MODE setting to "ON"

The TV should automatically switch to GAME MODE if you are using the inputs on the front of the TV.

8. Press "MENU" to exit and play your games.

Hope this helps. Please post back if you need further assistance.

How do i switch to game mode? The tv doesn't even have a place to put the red, yellow and white cords. Only a place to screw into the back. I have a nintendo game cube and it won't switch over to game...

Not sure what you mean by game mode but I think I can help. You need a RF Modulator and coaxil cable. You local department store should have all you need. An RF Modulator will do the trick.

I own a symphonic 27" television

I had this problem on a symphonic 27 inch TV I just bought from a friend who no longer had a remote. The thing with the menu and buttons on the front of the TV doesn't actually change the TV to true game mode. I don't know what it acutally does, but it isn't really in game mode. When it is in true "game mode" you can't change the channels until you turn game mode off. What I did was bought a universal remote (a specific one that someone told me about) for 8 bucks at walmart and I was then able to switch to game mode with the Input select on the remote. The remote I bought that actually worked is this one:
Make sure you look at it before you buy it and make sure it has a button that specifically says "input" on it. I know that some of the universal remotes don't have an input select button or one that doesn't work. As long as you get a Philips-Magnavox that has that button, you should be ok. Much better solution that paying 30 bucks for a new remote specifically for the TV. Hope this helps.

Try taking the batteries out of the remote, then pressing the power button on the remote for 5 seconds. Then replace the batteries. This should have reset the remote and should work.
