Question about Toshiba Satellite M45-S265 Notebook
Ok, I have a Toshiba Satellite.
I can give you the serial numbers, if it's necessary.
Ok! So, my laptop just went blank one day.
So I knew, I had to restore default settings with the Toshiba Recovery Disk.
So I did.
Then it was saying I should install Windows XP.
So I went down to Arkansas for vacation, bringing the Recovery Disk along with me.
My aunt had the Windows XP Operating System.
Later, this guy stole my Recovery Disk and broke it.
I don't know if this was a joke or not, but I didn't find it too funny at all.
Anyways, then I just installed the XP O.S. where it lasted 30 days, without any Toshiba settings.
See, mainly, I just want my wireless connection back.
Because I had that on my laptop, and when I lost the Recovery Disk, and just had the Operating System running on it, it wouldn't even search for a distant connection.
So now, my laptop is basically dead. Saying I need to install my Operating System again, or sign it up.
Where, I can't sign it up because, the laptop needs it's Toshiba Settings so it can sign onto the internet any other way.
So now, basically, the laptop is sitting at the top of my closet, waiting for some kind of grateful help.
Thank you in advance.
Please get back at me.

First of all sorry to hear your story. But I guess you shouldn't think there is no solution left. I am Toshiba Technical Specialist and I used to work for Toshiba. Toshiba recovery CD is obtainable from Toshiba. you can call their hotline number or you can go to Toshiba authorized dealer. Recovery CD Cost about $39 including shipping. Alternately there is no harm to use different XP Operating System as long its correctly installed. But for the drivers you need to download from http://support.toshiba.com (if you dont use the Recovery CD)
If you need further info please post your request.
