Can an ipod and a sansa live in the same home?

My husband gave me a Sansa for christmas. He's got an ipod and we have an extensive digital music library in itunes. We've already got the car gadgets for the ipod. I've read good things about the Sansa and would like to keep it. It has a replaceable battery and is less expensive than an ipod. It won't catch fire in my pocket... However, if I won't be able to upload any of the music we have in itunes, I'll exchange it for an ipod. Am I correct that this is a problem?

If your itunes music is saved in mp3 format, you can upload the music to your Sansa with no trouble.

Sansa plugged into Ipod music player - won't work now

Yep - it's a sad thing. iPod docks have ruined many a good mp3 player. Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisk's website (make sure the Sansa is not plugged into the computer yet). Once the Recovery Tool is downloaded, connect the Sansa to the computer while holding in the REC button and continue to hold it even after th player is plugged in. It should go into Recovery Mode in 10-15 seconds or so.

How do i transfer music from a sansa mp3 player to an ipod

Double-click My computer --> double-click Sansa --> go to Music/Songs/Albums folder - i forgot the exact wording - and drag the music files from the Sansa player to a new folder that you create on your desktop. Then drag those songs from your computer to your iPod using iTunes, Windows Media Player, or some other transfer software
