Compatibility Issue with HDMI Switch?

Hello, I appear to have some sort of compatibility problem with my DVD player (Samsung DVD-R135) and my HDMI Switch (Digiview 5 port HM501). My TV (a Sony LCD Projection Wega model KDF-60WF655) and the DVD player had been co-existing just fine, I was using the standard component hookup with them (I could not use the HDMI hookup as my satellite TV was using it and the TV has only one HDMI port). I purchased an Xbox 360 and in the interest of getting the most HD bang for my buck I went looking for an HDMI switch. Once the switch was in place the Xbox and the satellite worked fine but the DVD Player cut in and out almost as though there were a bad cable or connection. I have done the standard trouble shooting, i.e., replaced cables, swapped ports on the switch but no fix. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

All the best, Dan

Anytime your talking about a switch your talking about a temporary connection. The issue with using a switch is that for HDMI you want best quality and you will not get that using a temporary connection. The unit may be recognizing a weaker signal and turning the port off. However since the output on that particular unit is 1080i you should be fine using composite, just get a nicer monster set.

Can I use a Samsung 3D blu ray player with a 3D Sharp TV

In theory it should work but there are some know compatibility problems with HDMI connections mainly on older equipment so it is usualy better to use equipment from the same manufacturer. Key points are to make sure you have the latest firmware update installed in your blu-ray player (& TV if you have the option to do it.). Second issue is to make sure you use a suitable HDMI cable. It must be at least a "High Speed" HDMI cable. Sometimes labeled HDMI 1.3 or 1.4. I use 1.4 version cables purchased online from Cables UK . Dont spend a fortune on expensive cables from currys/comet etc. they are a massive con.(digital signals dont need expensive cables).

My sony bravia ex 300 seems to be having a compatibility problem with the LG home theatre I purchased recently. When I play it via the HDMI connection it has intermittent stoppages. How do I get this...

There is nothing as a compatibility issue between brands.Try playing an entire audio Cd by keeping the volume of your LG at zero. Listen only through the TV speakers. If it sound OK with out stoppages you have some DVD read issue in your LG player.Return the LG to the store and get it replaced.

I have a PS42B541 plasma TV and a 1080P9 DVD player, but the HDMI interface is not working at all. The DVD player is sending the video signal to the TV, but not the audio signal. Also Anynet is not working...

This is a compatibility problem between this model of samsung dvd player and samsung B model tvs. the only solution to fix this problem is disabling anynet option on samsung B model tvs.

Toshiba regza all but the hdmi input on my 42 inch toshiba regza

In most cases the HDMI issues are the source itself. Try another item like a DVD player or BluRay player. If they work then its a compatibility issue. If they don't then the HDMI receiver board in the TV is bad. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Pre-recorded dvds used before now will not load?

Since there are no firmware updates for this device, the lens is either dirty or defective. Unfortunately, the reviews for this product aren't very good.

Hope this answers your question. Best of luck.

Compatibility with Samsung LCD Display

It sounds like the HDMI port on the back of your Marantz is damaged. if you know for sure that the HDMI port works on another tv still you might just use component connection because the visible difference between component and HDMI is not very recognizable.

HDMI Compatibility

It sounds to me like you have a HDMI Control issue. It sounds like the DVD player wants to control the receiver. Try turning off hdmi control on the TV, reciever, and the dvd player in their setup menus.

Let me know if this helped,
