Creative Soundblaster live 5.1 card not detected

This is a problem I have encountered my self with this card and a Audigy 2ZS card. First, make sure the correct CD is being used, the Audigy card was a refurb that replaced the original retail box card that went bad, I was using the retail CD. Second, I just had the same problem on my sons machine three days ago. I moved the card to a different slot to get it away from the video card. Thats when the problem started. I tried every trick and finally replaced the card with another I had in a different machine. The card was the problem. Take the card out, inspect it very carefully and reinstall it. Other than that, try erasing the hard drive, not format. See if the maker has a program that will write zero's to it and then reinstall your operating system. If you use a backup after the install, I would put the card in it's original slot it has always occupied. I just uploaded a ISO file to a torrent which contains the original CD for a "RETAIL" card, I say this because I don't know if it will work with an oem card.
