    Hi
I have a sandisk micro sdhc card 8 gig and have it attached to the computer via mobilemate micro usb adapter, but the drive will not show in my computer window and I can't acces it. OS is vista business
    Can you help

I have just purchsed another sandisk micro sdhc card this time it's 4 gig and once again windows vista can't install the drivers. I am using a completely diferent adapter to conect it to my laptop.

Still in need of help for all of te above.

    Thanks

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

Nothing happens except that the OS looks for a driver and then looks at windows update for the driver. And then says it can't install the driver for unkinown reasons.

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

Thats correct. The adapter is the one that came with the microdisk sdhc in the same pack.

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

Both cards $ and 8 gig came with their own Sandisk adapter in the pack. I have tried to use thes on another computer and they work fine, however the other computer is XP pr OS

    Hi

    I don't have a vista disc as I am using a lenovo/IBM X61 with preinstalled Vista Business.

I have tried to find drivers online by doing a windows update, in case any drivers were missing, but the only update is for the Lenovo pointing device

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

I don't have an OS disc as it is an OEM version running on my laptop

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

No, but I'll try now and get back to you.

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

I have requested the hotfix from MS and the automated reply says that I will get it within 8 hours.

really appreciate the help you are giving me.

    Thanks

  • merlinduncan Dec 27, 2007

Hi,

Did you insert the card all the way into the adapter? Does anything happen when you insert the card?

The second adapter you are using...is it SDHC compatible? Because it needs to be in order to read SDHC cards. So basically, when you connect the card, VISTA asks for drivers?

    Damen Wong Dec 27, 2007

Thanks for clearing the adapter issue. They are the sandisk ones that ship with the cards. When it looks for the driver, did you try pointing it to your Vista disc?

I don't mean to be rude but shouldn't I get credit for the solution?

  • Damen Wong
    Damen Wong Dec 27, 2007

On my solution there should be some way to rate it and also to accept it as the solution...maybe you need to change the rating on the other solution.

It's ok...I don't really know how it goes on your end since I only do the answering. On the right of my name there should be 4 empty squares. Can you click on them? At the bottom there there should be an option to pick a rating (in 4 different colors). Is there an accept the solution button anywhere in my message box?

oh god. i dont know why every one is opting for XP now a days.

anyhow. then the thing you need to do is.
try downloading drivers for ur adapter so that you can make it compataible with your vista.
    but XP rocks

  • dewan nafees ahmed Dec 27, 2007

mostly drivers will be inside your OS disk itself. so better insert the OS disc and then try installing the drivers.
    why because.
during installation of operating system all the drivers wont get installed on hard drive due to space constraint.

I bought a 4 gig SanDisk Adapter micro SD, micro SDHC. my Acer Aspire will not recognize the card, i've tried the switch both ways multiple times. how can i get my PC to recognize the card?

My reader will not read mine either. I use a usb key card reader. It used to read the regular old SD cards but the new HC card format wont work. This is due to UDF differences. You can try to reformat the card but then your camera or device may not recognize it anymore. good luck

Where do i put it in my lap top

It depends on whether your laptop supports SDHC, microSDHC, or neither.

1. Supports MicroSDHC: check on the manual the position of the MicroSDHC slot.

2. Only supports SDHC: you need to purchase an adapter - essentially a full-size SDHC with a slot where the MicroSDHC goes. Plug the micro card in the adapter, plug the adapter+card into the SDHC slot.

3. Neither: you need to purchase both a micro-to-SDHC adapter and a SDHC-to-USB reader (usually SDHC in supported in most "XYZ-in-1 readers", like Quanta 32-in-1 USB reader - check out "SDHC USB reader" in eBay, for example).

I dont know how to use my sandisk to transfer from my cell phone to computer. which chip goes into the comp. usb port. the adapter or the transflash?

Some pc's have card reader slots which allow you to simply take the card out of one device and insert it into the card reader slot on the pc.
After this is done, the memory card becomes accessible.

My cell phone has a Micro SDHC card slot but my pc does not. In order to access the M-SDHC card from my pc I have to insert the card into the USB adapter that was provided with the Micro-SDHC card when I purchased it.

After the card has been inserted into the USB adapter, I then plug the USB adapter into an open USB slot on my pc which gives me access to the files on the Micro-SDHC card.

My PC will not recognize my 2GB Micro SD Card

Does the PC recognize the adapter when you place onto the USB port? If not, try another USB port. It should atleast say it has detected hardware, see if it's finding and installing the drivers correctly.

If it's not the adapter, could you reformat the microsd card? Perhaps, it is corrupted? Is this SDHC or SD (what capacity). Older Blackberries do not support SDHC (I believe this is 4gb or above), perhaps this has something to do with it.

I hope this helps,
Bill

Sandisk 4gb micro SD with adapter is "unreadable"

Hello,

Certain cameras will not recognize an SD card because it is SDHC. The format was created after the camera. Camera vendors do issue firmeware updates.

Hope it helps.

It is most likely because your card is a SDHC (NEW ) and your reader is just a SD.

Change in sdhc memory card capacity

Go to the scandisk website and get the format tool.

If you got this card for something besides computer, you use the devise to format card and not the computer. Ex-phone.

Format card with phone.

If you got this for computer, you should have gotten a flash drive.

Have your My Computer window open and re-insert the card into the reader. If it doesn't show immediately, then right click and choose refresh. It should show up then.

Problem with reading Sandisk 4gig hc micro sd card in my computer and laptop

I guess you put the SD adapter into the card reader right out of the box? You first may have to partition/format it after unpacking it. Under WinXP I can recommend an utility "DiskPart" which you can start from the command prompt (Run... -> cmd). For further instructions (if it sounds to you to be the problem ) contact me again.
