Right speaker jack

The right and left speakers work fine for CD and radio, but when the input (side jack) is used for MP3, only the left speaker produces sound. ...Already tried swapping speakers, sound comes from left only... (and problem occurs only when using mp3 (portable device) jack).

Re: right speaker jack

Are you using the same cord for the mp3 player as you are for the cd and radio? There could be a patch cord problem or it could be the output jack of the mp3 player. If using headphones with the mp3 player works both right and left then it must be the patch cord. Try using a different patch cord.

It's one of three things things:
First, examine where the speaker wires are plugged into the receiver. Are any of the copper strands touching one another? If so, remove the excess stripped wire and reinsert it. Problem solved.

Test two: bad speaker. to test, swap the speakers (hook the right speaker to the left speaker jacks and the left speaker to the right speaker jacks). If the RIGHT side now cuts out, you have bad speakers.

If the speaker on the LEFT jacks still cuts out, your amplifier is going bad (which could cost between $50-$200 to repair).

I think you will find that there's a fault in the amp of the unit which is why it doesn't work. Try plugging a headphone in, if that is dead on one side the amp is too!

Laptop doesn't see Teca cassette deck

I'm not sure why you are unable to see the usb device, but I am surprised you are using a speaker level output to connect to it and not a line level, which is a much smaller signal. I've never heard of an RCA to USB adapter, but I like the idea if it works. I normaly just go into the line input jack on the back when using a desktop computer. Does your laptop have a line input jack? Good luck.

TEAC - CD-X9 - No sound in left speaker

the speaker wire itself could be grounding out. look for small knicks in the wire and make sure the plug is not faulty. RCA plugs can go bad which would account for intermitent troubles some times

Usually there is an AUX input you can use. You will need to have a cable that will connect the output jack of the MP3 player to the input connector on the shelf system. You can also use any of the selectable inputs, such as tape or cd as long as there are connectors on the back of the system for those.
