Good answer but, no MFG company will warranty a lightning damage product so the dealer eats it. It would be immoral to return it because it is not working under these conditions. Imagine if I was a dealer selling this stuff, and you did not install a surge suppression on your coax or power, and it blew in the first lightning storm and you expect a refund or replacement. NOT! Your are liable for not taking proper precaution. I really don't like this type of answer and rubs me the wrong way. Sure the customer gets what they want, but how is a dealer going to stay in business when every Tom **** and Harry decides to be immoral.
Power outages are often preceeded by power spikes - which can blow your router. If other devices work on the outlet then it is your power adapter or router that has died.
If you got it free from your ISP call them explain what happened and they will usually replace free of charge. If you bought it and it is still under warrnatly - return it as damaged... contact the supplier first for a Return's Number.
Or if non of the above is possible you have no choice but to buy a replacement router - and purchase a power spike / surge protector while you are at it... to prevent it happening again.
If this helped you then please help me and kindly vote - thanks
