Sony KF-50WE610 - red tint problem

The TV powers up just fine, looking great, but after a while all images appear with a red tint over them. You can still see red, blue, green, yellow, etc but with a reddish even magenta hue over. Ocassionally instead of a red tint we get a blue tint over the screen, no reds can be seen when this happens. No image distortion or sound problems, just problems with the color. We've had this TV since summer 2004, please help.

Re: Sony KF-50WE610 - red tint problem

I have the same exact problem. We found a temporary solution is to give the TV a "love tap" on the on the back beneath where it says "SONY." My guess is something is loose in the back. Make sure you don't hit the TV too hard and try different spots if one isn't working.

Sony LCD Model KF-60WE610 lamp was replaced and then it shortly after stopped turning on. Blinks Green 6 times then Red 6 times Please help!

For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.

Blue hue accross bottom of screen - Sony KF-50WE610

You can try doing this, turn on the Tv and select the service menu, if that tint also shows on the menu, it's most probable to be your DMD board, but if it doesn't it might be the video board..

SONY GRAND WEGA KF-50WE610 can't turn on TV screen.

Ths 5 blinks usually indicate an AKB problem. There is a break in the video path. I'll look up your specific model and post the results here. Please update this if you wish to attempt the repair yourself.
