Tells me card protected, card is not locked work fine in my computer

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common cause is having the tiny slide switch on the side of the card in the wrong position. The second most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out (note 2GB or less standard SD cards are very inexpensive these days, and are available on Amazon if your local store no longer carries them). There are also other common causes if the above didn't help, with troubleshooting steps for this problem listed here.

Card locked on polaroid i1036

I'm guessing that you just purchased a new card. Sorry to tell you, although this is a relatively newer model camera, Polaroid did not design it to work with the newer 4GB or higher SDHC cards. It will only work with 2GB or less standard SD Cards. These are relatively inexpensive these days, and may be found on Amazon in case your local store no longer carries them. For others experiencing memory card problems, there are other possible troubleshooting steps that may be viewed here.

Card locked

So I got the same error message a few weeks ago. I bought a card reader and a software program that is supposed to recover lost/deleted/corrupt files but to no avail.

I have tried the SD card on my sister's camera (same Canon powershot) and it doesnt work. I have tried my sister's SD card on my camera and it does work so it is not my camera. It is clearly the SD card with an error.

What can i do, i cant lose these pics!!

Thanks anyone who might have an idea.

P.S. The SD card itself is UNLOCKED.

How do you get rid of card locked message on Polaroid i832 when there isnt even a card in it , just internal memory

It's likely that the locking switch inside the camera's card slot is stuck. If you look inside the slot on the side of the slot where the SD card slide switch would be, you'll see a glint of gold color on the side. This is the camera's lock/unlock switch. The other glint's of gold that you may see at the far end of the slot are the reader's connectors (ignore those).

Somehow, the locking switch is making contact and has become stuck in the locked position. With a plastic toothpick, or other skinny NON-METALLIC item, tap against this switch to see if you can jar open the contact to its normal unlocked position. Also try blowing compressed air at it, as some gunk may have worked its way in there, jamming it closed. Occasionally, reinsert the SD card to see if the issue has been corrected.

If repeated tries fail, it may be time to consider opening the camera to force open this switch (not recommended unless you have some familiarity with electronics). In this case please see the following (xscrewdriver, hope you don't mind me referencing your blog):

Sd card

Hey litbit3471,
What you most likely need to do is format the SD card. Directions on how to do this are on page 82 of your camera manual. I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera manual incase you need it. I hope this helps!

How do you get rid of card locked message on Polaroid T830?

SD cards have a tiny slide tab on the edge of the card.

This is used to lock the card, so you can't alter the contents.

Slide the tab to unlock the card.
