Certain keys on the Gyration GC15CK keyboard have stopped working

If this is hardware problem, it'd be hard to repair. I don't mean it's not repairable, but what i mean is i don't recommend since repairing a keyboard and purchasing a new item will cost you more or less the same.
Well try this, Press Fn + Numlock (simultaneously on both the keys) on the keyboard and check if it helps or not [press once and then type the malfunction keys, if not press twice or thrice]. Most keyboard with Fn key's functions can be deactivated or activated with this key combination.
Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Where is the Fn key an a dell keyboard?

This is a simple problem, due to the size of laptops, the manufacturers cannot fit on a normal number pad as on a standard keyboard, so what they do is use a function key to turn a portion of the keyboard in to the number pad.
to get rid of this you need turn the 'number lock' off this may be a single key or a combination.
for my laptop its:
press together; the function key (normally 'Fn' bottom left) and the number lock key (Num Lock).
hope this sorts out the problem.

Some of my keys don't work.and restart my computter to the begining.

hope ur a professional..!!
howevr, try dis..
You'll need to edit the Registry Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\preload..change the "1" value setting to the Key name below..You'll also need to expand the file in the File Name to the System32 folder. You can use "System Sentry's" 'Inflate a File' feature to install the file..Layout Name: French; File (Y2K/XP): kbdfr.dll; Key Name: 00010407..
hope dis works..if not can post me comments..i'll try to resolve it better..

the other option:
You will need your windows xp CD to install additional language..
Go to Control Panel..
Click on Regional and Language Options..
Click on Advance option..
Select Language you require..
Click on Apply..
It will Prompt "Please insert Windows XP Cd"..
Insert the CD, and it will install the required files for running the language..

if the above all fails:
u r keyboard is likely to b defective or ur ram..
lightly strike/tap the keypad using ur hand..
open the keyboard..deep clean all the carbon contacts beneath the keys using Iso-Propyl alcohol..put/stick 'Carbon-Dots' (available in cheap level spare market) as n where necessary..
{In laptops with a small screen (14,15" ) the keyboard is accordingly smaller than for desktops, and there is no numeric keypads, or arrow pad. So the keys 7,8,9 0, U,I,O,P,J,K,L ,comma, dot, / have a triple function: the primary function, the shifted function, and a third accessed by an FN-Fx key combination. The actual key combination may depend on manufacturer. If that key combination has been activated, the foregoing keys perform the third function they were designed for..
Read your laptop manual to find out how the Fn- function key works and deactivate the Fn-Fx combination responsible for your keyboard behavior..}..

best is to seek advice of ur system admin/vendor....

Locked keyboard buttons

You need to find the special function key that, when used with the Fn key, locks the Fn function on. On my keyboard it's the F11 key.
Press the Fn key and that key and your keyboard will return to normal.

Keyboard `problem `strange `dash `appearing

Many programs extend the usefulness of the function keys by using key combinations. The most common combinations are Shift + a function key, Alt + a function key, and Crtl + a function key. These combinations can be very useful. For instance, in Microsoft Word, when any text is highlighted, pressing the Shift key plus the F3 key will change the case of the text from all caps, initial caps, to all lowercase. Shift + F7 will choose the Thesaurus command. These shortcuts allow you to access such functions with one keystroke rather than three or four mouse clicks.

Cannot unlock Keyboard Scroll lock - EX110

Found this little bomb shell after about 30mins of looking for an answer.

To toggle your scroll lock key:
  1. Click on the Windows Start button.
  2. Select Run.
  3. Type 'OSK' in the dialog box.

  4. Click on OK.
  5. The Microsoft on-screen keyboard will open. Notice that the slk, or scroll lock, key (located in the top row of the on-screen keyboard as shown below) is turned on.

  6. Click on slk (in the top row of the on-screen keyboard). This will toggle the state of the scroll lock key. Notice that the scroll lock key is no longer outlined in red. Scroll lock is now off.

NOTE: If you have installed SetPoint (Logitech’s Mouse and Keyboard software) the confirmation message Scroll Lock Off will also be displayed for about 2 seconds on your monitor.
