The icemaker calls for water but no water comes

Check first fr a fill tube blocked with ice. If clear check the water valve.

Starting from the start, make sure the valve behind the fridge is open. then make sure when you disconnect the tube from the intake of the refrigerator, that water comes out. Then check the intake filter on the fridge for debris. Then defrost the freezer in case the intake line froze. If you still have no water going into the ice maker, the valve is probably bad. If you post the make/model and go through those steps I'll help you take the Icemaker apart...
