Re: What to do when your pc is filled with trojan virus?

Ad-aware SE is free and is very good for removing trojans and spyware. you can download it here just remember to update it 1st but if your computer protests to much just run it and quarenteen all of them at the end. it dose not have real time scanning or auto update so when you do use it update it 1st always... a good free antivirus like avast will help keep them out and a good firewall is essential too like zonealarm. But, if you want to buy the good av kaspesky is the one you want. I hpoe this help "Fix Ya"

My graphics card does not show up on my Device Manager

I had just run into the same problem while installing my new graphics card earlier today. This is what I did to fix it:

1. Uninstall the new driver for the new card, if you can, in control panel if it installed.

2. Reinstall the new driver.

3. Go to Device Manager and UNINSTALL, not disable, UNINSTALL the on-board card. Don't worry this won't kill anything. It will ask you to restart your computer. Click yes.

4. While the computer is restarting and on the shut down screen for windows unplug the monitor cord from the onboard card and plug it into the new card.

5. Wait for windows to boot up and load the new drivers. It should be working with the correct drivers.

If it takes more than 8 minutes for anything to come on the screen(icons, login screen, etc.) reboot your computer again.

Need help please my new sims3 is corrupt

Such problems occurs when game files and windows are infected due to virus or missing registry entries.

I would suggest to perform a complete scan with a system utility tool Intel Software Partner Reginout.

Also update the drivers that control your PC.

Hi mango..

Your problem is beginning to bug ME!

Did you install the motherboard drivers when you reinstalled the operating system? This is the only thing that I can think of that may need doing from your description (you didn't mention doing this).

If not, try doing that. If you don't have your disk, try a Google search with the following string:

(Brand Name) (Model Number) +driver

This should bring up some sites that list your motherboard drivers.

Another way would be to use Windows Update and choose Custom (instead of Express) Install and select all the Drivers and Optional elements (as well as any Priority elements).

I think I have already asked this - Is there only 1 Video Adapter listed in Device Manager? If not, Disable the one that you don't want to use.

As regards viruses, I recommend using AVG Free - it is a good antivirus program that updates Definitions daily - and best of all, it is free! You will still need to do a full System scan at least once a month to catch any viruses that slipped through before the Definitions were updated though (same as for any antivirus program).

Let me know how you go.

Do you have the chipset driver CD? The driver CD that comes with the motherboard... You should be able to find the VGA driver on that. If you don't, then I am afraid I can do anything much..

Geforce 6800GT conflict with windows xp pro

Have you run a virus or spyware scan of your machine? Is your virus and spyware up to date? While running @ 640x480 does it exibit any other errors? lsass.exe is a system process of the Microsoft Windows security mechanisms. It specifically deals with local security and login policies. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated. Note: lsass.exe is a process which is registered as a trojan. This Trojan allows attackers to access your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, Internet banking and personal data. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system. Note: lsass.exe is registered as a downloader. This process usually comes bundled with a virus or spyware and its main role is to do nothing other than download other viruses/spyware to your computer. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system. DON'T REMOVE THE LSASS.EXE let a virus/ spyware program determine if its good or bad. you can download virus cleaner (avast is my favorite virus protection) windows defender, spybot S&D, AdAware, HighJack This to clean the machine. Then download and install the latest drivers from here: Driver Installation Hints * "Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers. * Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly. * Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove. Get back to me if none of that works. Good Luck, Tim
