Problem for HP Compaq Evo Notebook N600c PC Notebook

I accidenty connected a 28volt charger to my evo n600c. now it wont charge or runon the battery. The computer works normally on the correct PU. I assume something has blown inside the battery box. Can you tell me where I can find a circuit diagram of the battery and charging system. I hesitate to buy a new battery In case something has blown on the mother board

if the battery charger powers the computer, then i would imagine the motherboard is fine...
there should be some kind of fuse insode the battery to prevent things like this from causing them to explode.
