Stiletto constantly powering off

Just opened up the box for the stiletto, and as i powered it on, it has constantly made an attempt to power on, but before it goes to the main screen it shuts off, and then powers on again. This process of powering on and then turning off is repetitive, and has been happening for the last several hours. (the batteries are also fully charged). not sure what is wrong with it, or if its defective.

I have had this stiletto 100 for just over 1 year. It had been working just fine.

On Jan 8 2008, while it was powered on in it's docking base, playing via satellite feed the buttons became unresponsive. I could not change stations, switch to recorded playback or internet. It would not shut down using the power button so I removed the battery.

I re-attached the battery and the unit began to boot up with the sirius dog logo as usual, but then instead of the main home screen, a message appeared ---"please wait, restarting".

The unit then re-booted it self.

Before completing this boot the unit now switched to say "shutting down".

The unit then continued to constantly re-boot it self, never displaying the home screen. It only stopped when I removed the battery.

I have tried to power it on several times with the same results every time.

Solution is downloading the sirius recovery software from My radio would not connect to my computer because it would not fully turn on. disconnect the battery. Hold the DISPLAY and OPTIONS button on the radio face when reconnecting battery. Connect to PC and Sirius Recovery Program will pop up. Run program, takes approx 10 to 15 min and radio works good as new.

Your Stilletto has most likely been corrupted in the flash memory area that contains the OS. Sirius recommends the following;
SIRIUS Device Recovery (SDR) is a software application that helps you recover your Stiletto (SL2, SL100 or SL10) in the event of a complete system failure.
The SIRIUS Device Recovery program retrieves the latest version of software for your Stiletto from the Sirius website. NOTE: Performing device recovery WILL ERASE the entire contents on your Stiletto: all music, Sirius recordings, channel presets and any user preferences. The Stiletto will be reset to its original factory state. You can perform the revovery from the Sirius Studio software that came with your device or

Stiletto2 sometimes has static while playing mp3's from exp. card

I also own a Stiletto 2 and I have noticed this same problem, but only when playing MP3's in my car. What I have found is that if the volume on the Stilletto is too high it creates distortion. The solution is to turn down the volume on the actual Stilletto and just use the volume on the car stereo. Problem solved everytime.

Sirius Stiletto 2 Problem

That's one of several problems my Stiletto 2 has. The only solution I've found is to "reboot" the unit. You'll have to remove the unit from the cradle, pop the back off, and remove the battery for a few seconds. Then put everything back together and power it up. It will take a minute or two, but once it reboots it should be fine.

I'm recieving a strong signal on my stiletto 2 but no sound on the radio. The MP3 player works with headphones and so does internet radio.

You need the firmware upgrade from the Sirius website:

Bug Fixes
· Reduced incidence of “acquiring signal” and “antenna not detected” messages
while the radio is installed in the Stiletto Vehicle dock (SLV2)
· Improved audio quality and distortion reduction
· Reduced incidence of long block recording and Radio Replay corruption
