If your computer does not reconginise the deivce then try changing the USB setting on the device if applicable. Alternatively try inserting the deivce into different USB ports and make sure other USB devices are being picked up. If they are and yours isnt and chanign the USB setting does not work google the model number with 'drivers' after it and you should be able to find a set of drivers for your device availible for download.

The format is different for each GoGear, but what you have to do is you MUST use the Philips/Arcosft Media Converter to convert the videos. It is available for free from Philips website, but you have to make sure that you get the converter that is specific for your EXACT model # of GoGear.
You all have slightly different issues, most of which can be solved with a firmware upgrade. In basic outline: Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear: Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off.Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab.Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions. After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
