- 'Rollback Driver', or 'Update Driver' in Device Manager almost never works.
(Start>Right-click on My Computer>Left-click on Properties>Left-click on Hardware tab>Left-click on Device Manager>Left-click on + sign next to Sound, video and game controllers>Right-click on Legacy Audio Drivers, {Or Realtek High Definition Audio, IF listed},>Left-click on Properties>Left-click on Update Driver)
Believe at this point, you may want to download the Original Audio Drivers.

Scroll down to the heading - Original Drivers
Then down to - Spring 2005 Original Audio Driver Collection
Download, close all windows until you are back to your desktop screen, install the file.
This time instead of restarting your computer, do a 'Hard Shut Down'.
(Start>Turn Off Computer>Shut Down)
Wait 1 minute, turn the computer back on.
If this doesn't do it, I then suggest buying an inexpensive sound card, and using the drivers that come with it on the CD.
