Cant turn off my mic in my laptop (by 2 users)

i m hving compaq presario v6409tu ,
and i recently reinstalled windows ..
though i hv installed all drivers , but still cant gt microphone sign on taskbar and neither could turn off mic ....
plz guide me

during online talk i can here the voice from other side......But the people on other side can't here me...........i m using Compaq C772TU

hi,
have you checked the sound properties, in cntrl Pnl go to sound & audio devices, you shall find all the things to do there.. let me know
