Re: cant turn off my mic in my laptop

If you have vistaand your having the same problem go to control panel click of hardware and sound then click on sound recording and click on properites and select the mic and then set it to disable, the mic icon then disserpears so if you plan to put it back on right click on the box where the mic icon was and select see disabled icons or something like that, hope it helps

Re: cant turn off my mic in my laptop

Double click on the little speaker icon on the Desktop toolbar at the bottom right of your screen. The volume control window will open. Click on options then properties. Next check the small round recording button. Now make sure he microphone box is checked then click ok. Now a window will open that will show your microphone recording level. Move the slider up about half way and make sure to check the small "Select" box near the bottom of the slider. Open up sound recorder or whatever application you are using and try to record. I hope this has been helpful.

Why Behringer C1U not recognized ?

Did you install the mic's drivers before plugging the mic in? Have you tried it on 32bit operating systems other than Win 7? I don't think it will be an audio driver problem ie: asio4all. But because the OS doesn't recognise the driver automatically it might indicate where the problem lies. I am not familiar with this particular mic ( I use AKG cs1000s with Zoom R16 audio interface ) but I know there can be issues with some 64 bit systems and certain audio hardware. Nothing in the Behringer forums?

My netbook model is compaq mini110, it used to be windows xp but i upgrade it to windows 7 now, but after the upgrade i found out that my internal mic is not working now, but during it was on windows xp ...

You will need to reinstall the driver. Go to the following website and select your labtop from the list. Note there are actually many 110 models you will need to see which one you have. After the 110 on the model number there should be a dash and another alpha numeric series. Once you've selected the right one the proper page will come up with drivers. Select and download and install the mic. driver and you should be good to go.

Since i installed windows 7 my microphone does not function. pls assist

Click on control panel open Audio settings, now click on properties. You will be able to set up the mic sensitivity and the levels in this to activate.
Now check with the microphone plugged into. If not check the audio drivers and reinstall. if the audio ports works earlier then it can be some errors in the installation or a fault in the audio players- media players. Un-install and reinstall once again. If not restore the PC to an earlier date.
Check the connections, check the mic seperatively.

Cyber acoustic mc 1060

For Vista 32 bit. Go to the driver manager. De-instal/delete the driver in the Sound, Video and Game section. In my case it was RealTek High Def Audio ver (Select Delete the driver files.) Reboot. Vista will reinstall a driver. In my case it was Microsoft High Def audio ver 6.0.6000.16386. I had the mic plugged in when I rebooted to load the new driver. The Cyber Acoustics ML-1060 now works fine. Hope this helps.

Problem with Samson CO1U

Here are some instructions relayed from someone who was able to fix a similar problme with help from Samson tech support:

The C01U is a WAV device. Therefore, adjusting the slider for your default MIC input level on the volume control applet does not adjust the gain on the C01U. You access the actual volume control for the C01U as follows:

Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices
Click on Audio tab.

Under "Sound Recording", insure that Default Device is selected as Samson C01U.

Once Samson C01U is selected as Default Recording Device, click on the Volume button just below the name. A new window will pop up, with a vertical slider. This window will be labelled "WAVE IN", however it actually does control the MIC volume for the C01U.

The key here seems to be that the USB device that represents the Microphone input (as far as Windows is concerned) is not a traditional microphone, but (as mentioned above) a WAV-IN device.
