Hi,
You can try & proceed to HP website (http://www.hp.com/) and go to the Software & Driver Downloads (left side near the bottom).
You have to determine the specif model/version of your HP computer which might look something like "HP Pavilion 4550Z"
From initial indications you would be looking for an Internal Modem/Sound Card that was originally set for Windows 98SE. Chances are that it is a Conexant or Rockwell SoftK56 Data,Fax PCI Modem, with Master Riptide PCI Audio Device.
Post back should you need additional information. State your PC's model.
Good luck and kind regards.

If no brand/model then your next best bet is to get the chipset number and download a generic driver. The chipset is the largest IC (LSI) on the modem board. Most often, they are made by Conexant, ESS, Lucent to name a few. Once you have determined the chipset number (ex. Conexant HSF1 CX11252-11), google for modem drivers of the chipset number or try the chipset manufacture's website.
Good luck and kind regards.
