Re: sizing digital photos to display in digital frames

Use the 16:9/4:3 key on the remote to toggle between widescreen and normal view. Most digital camera photos look fine at 4:3.

How do i troubleshoot gigaware 8' digital photo frame? it will only read one photo off the SDHC card 16gb that i put into it. i can read the card on my computor.

Some picture display frames will only handle files below a certain size and of certain types. Check your manual for the gigaware to see what those restrictions are. It may be that you will have to reduce the resolution or size of the photos or make sure they are all jpeg.

I just bought a digital photo frame for my husband for christmas and i get so many pictures downloaded...then it just stops and says insufficient memory card.....i thought there was something wrong with...

I'm pretty sure this means that you have filled up the internal memory on the picture frame.
I just bought my sister a photoframe for Christmas (made by Phillips) and we got the same message. Not the most precise wording on the error message, but we tried deleting a few photos and the error went away. Then I checked the internal memory of the frame, and it is only 128M, which is not alot of photos.
I think the solution will be to buy a USB memory stick to leave in the frame. For about $10 you can get a 4G USB memory stick, which is about 32 times the space of the internal memory, at least if you have a similar model as we do.

What is best size in kb to upload pics onto Lucid 8?

I'll assume you're Lucid 8 is an 8" frame which is likely to be 800 x 600 pixels.

Giving a size in KB isn't the best criteria - it depends on lots of things including what format you're storing in, the composition of the photo, the software you're using, how many photos you want to display and what you're storing them on. I'll assume the storage isn't an issue and you only care about quality.

If you're storing in JPEG, make sure your image is the same size as the frame (probably 800 x 600 pixels), for an average image, a good balance of compression and quality would be 100-250 KB.

I bought a technika jp07 photo frame but when i put the sd card in it comes up no playable file. i tried the same sd card in another photo frame and it works fine. please help mrs bev bartram

It seems that it's not about the size of file or resolution of the photo!

I was given one of these yesterday. I copied my photos on to a 64mb SD card of unknown make. They display fine on my PC but on my Photo Frame I get the "no playable file" message. I tried changing file size etc but no good.

As a last resort I copied my same photos on to a 2GB SanDisk SD card and tried that. It works fine. So my guess is that these photo frames are picky on what SD card they'll accept.

A pity the manual doesn't tell you so!

It was my birthday last week , and my boyfriend bought me photoframe (digital) i hav manged 2 set clock, but cant seem 2 figure out how 2 get photo's from my laptop on 2 it , i hav manged 2 use a memory...

hi there
most photo frames don't come with a built in memory so you would need to check the manual.
if it hasn't then you will have to put them all on a memory stick. a 2gig stick will hold about a thousand pikkys. if it has got a built in memory you just need to copy them on to it. post the make and model number and i'll sort it out.

How do I load pictures from my computer to the memory card in my camera?

You have to first download the images to your computer and Save them in a folder. Then connect the USB cable from the digital photo frame to the computer and transfer the photos you want onto the frame. Some time you have to change the photos name to alphabetic order so you photoframe will display the pictures in the correct order.
