Won't read disc's (by 37 users)

every time i put in a disk it will say reading.... then it will say open tray.

any disc that I insert in the xbox360 keep saying that the console cannot read the disc

My Xbox 360 keeps saying unplayable disc when I put the game in but it is new and I just bought it.

game disc does not read or register. it comes up as the menu, and says its unreadable. I changed the disc with other games and it comes up the same.

Every disk just says "unreadable"

have the same problam won't read any game. need a solution fast

When i put a game in a white screen comes up and says " To play this disc put it in a xbox 360 console "but it play cd's and dvds i went in and ask at a local games shop and they said i need a new disc drive

when i play my xbox360 it will play or a while then say disc is unreadable. i went to game stop and they told me that it is the lense is gone how much does it cost to get a new lense.

x box 360 will not read disks

i just got an xbox 360. after i got all the updates installed, it would only read a disk i got from papa john's with my pizza awhile back. it wount read anything else, can anyone help??!!!

I get the unreadable disc mesg when I put in my new Grand Theft Auto IV for x-box 360. I returned the game and got another and still get the same mesg. It works on my friends 360

insert any disc and the xbox will not recognize the disc occasionaly it does but when it does it says disc unreadable

yea got the brand new unplayable discs grindin noise it plays movies but not games anyone noticed that and has anyone tried the three foam pads that help stabilize the disc while its spinning I just ordered a set so check them out in a couple of days let you know how it goes

my xbox has played all my recent games fine, until madden 08. It will load a bit and then say unreadable disk and to clean the disk and restart or contact xbox support. but i have not found a solution Please Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we have the same problem. The message we get is "unplayable disc" and it all started after a horrible grinding noise went on for about a minute. We turned the unit off, thinking maybe it was overheated. A day later, still getting the "unplayable disc" message. Not sure what we can do to rectify the problem other than send it to Microsoft.

My 360 is reading only a few of my games. I bought one game today and it will play perfectly for about 20 mins then it will freeze and a message will come up and say it is unraedable, then it wont let me play on it because my 360 wont read it.

halo 3 disc was working during the begginning of the week and now it is unreadable. we checked and found some scratches and cleaned it. still didnt work. so we are getting it replaced. Now my friend brings over his halo 3 disc (newly bought for christmas (no scratches) and it doesnt work on my xbox 360. but it was working at his house 2 hours ago. what is the problem? the discs or my consule?
