The problem is with your input device. It sounds like you are using a PC that is too slow or with improperly configured codecs.

It is 100% impossible for cables or the receiver/amp to cause an increasingly long audio delay relative to the video.

It may be that your audio cables are poor quality. Try getting some higher quality cables to run your sound and see if that helps. If your system has optic outlets then these are best. Coax are better than RCA as well. If only RCA, then just try buying some higher quality RCA cables. Good luck!

Are both running behind the picture or just the satellite? What happens if you switch them?

Are you running component from DVD to TV and satellite to TV?

As long as your feeds are directly from the satellite and DVD player to your tuner, it must be a problem with the tuner. Those cables should not be giving you any problems. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

RCA RT2760 home theater. I have Insignia blu ray player connected. The surround sound works for the ads on the disc, but when the actual movie starts, there's no sound.

Generally the adds are in conventional sound, not Dolby Digital or any superior sound. So when the movie starts the sound switches to the better sound, which you appear to have not connected it up or have not get the right sound settings selected. So you hear nothing. The Blue Ray player might have to have a either an RCA cable connection, or more likely an optical lead to hear the Dolby Sound types.

Hi I have the same problem and fixed it by running a fan behind the TV I think the Plasma screen runs to hot.
The fan completely fixed the screen if you feel the top of the TV you can see how hot it gets running a fan behind the set keeps it cool.
