Question about Philips DSR704
How can I use a cell phone to download the first setup info for this model. I stopped having a home phone a couple of years ago. Cell is far cheaper.
As far as I know, you can't, but I have a different solution.
These units don't need to call in, unless you order PPV. However, to get past that first "guided setup" call, which is nothing more than a test call, I'd recommend just taking it to a friends house to make the test call.
After that, you'll have to put up with the nag messages about not making a call, or hack the unit to make it not want to make a call at all.
