Re: uploading my videos on my mac.

You can always use a video converter. just search on google free video converter. all you have to do is change the video file from .mod to .mov. You might have to buy a video converter because sometimes if you use them for free random words will appear on your video and its very annoying.

Re: uploading my videos on my mac.

I finally found out how to download the videos from the camcorder to the mac. First I called JVC Customer service and was told to go to the Pixela website and download the following: captympeg.edit.ex and use the latest version, it works but it is going to cost you $49.99. I figure I had to buy this or I would not be able to make a DVD of my recordings. Once you download is easier if you use Quicktime app.

Upload DV video camera to Mac.

Hi Dana
I would be inclined to suspect that the firewire on your Mac has gone bad - it does happen now and again.
Is it that the camera doesn't show up in iMovie or does it not even show on the desktop as an untitled drive?
I have an unknown brand HD Camera that only has USB and it will not show up on my Mac - but if I take the card out and put it into the card reader it shows up as a drive and the Video files are there to download.

How do I download videos from my Panasonic SDR-H80 to my Mac? I have the CD (VideoCam Suite 2.0) that came with the video camera but when I insert it and the icon shows up on my desktop it does not pop up...

I had similar problem. Could not see the files in the DCIM folder. But when I opened iMovie I see the files and can upload them to iMovie just fine. Unfortunately, the Panasonic manual sucks when it comes to instructions for Mac users. All they talk about is using the VideoCam Suite 2.0 but that is only for PC users. Mac users just use iMovie.

We have some videos we want to transfer to the computer. We are running Mac OSX with the Leopard software. When I attach the camera, I see the point and shoot icon for a short time and then I hear a beep...

Put the batteries in the camera, then connect via the USB flip connection. The camera will show up on the desktop like a flash drive does. Open it when it shows up. Drill until you find the avi movies and drag them to your desktop. You may have to convert them to quicktime files. If you cannot use the software that came with the camera (it does work), you can import the sections into iMovie.

Uploading my videos on my mac.

You will need to get some third party software, the good news is it's FREE. Check out and look for MPEG Streamclip 1.9 or later. I did this and all good now, my movies go straight into iMovie without a problem.

Uploading video to Mac

You can't transfer videos through USB. You will need a Firewire 6-pin cord and use it to connect from your MAC to the Camcorder. Only then you can transfer videos.
