Need CD Laser replacement for AVIC-D1

Well my AVIC-D1 started to give me the "Error 11" message which basically is telling you that the CD can not be read or that it is too scratched or dirty. Well I used a new music CD I have and could not read it, I then checked the CD Drive and found that the laser lens is cracked across the middle and causing it to not read CD's anymore. I would like to know where I could buy a replacement CD Laser module , or if anyone has one available to sell

I need a DVD Tray for an Emerson DVD / VCR combo. My son in law hit the tray while it was open and now it won't close because the little thing that picks up the disk has fallen and is preventing the tray from closing. I have the system apart but can't see any way to repair this. It seems easier to replace the whole DVD tray and laser assembly than to try and repair this one. What do you think?

My VBR-110 Vizio Bluray player says no disc when there is a disc. I've cleaned the disc, tried different discs, cleaned it, unplugged it for a long ass time, so I don't know what else to do.

It's the laser that is faulty. The laser retrieves information . Normally when you load a disc you will hear it speed up then slow down and as the laser reads the disc it sort of makes a noise like a small hiss or squeak.
i imagine yours will take the disc and then runs to full speed and after around 30secs you have the error message and it stops? . Depending on how your model loads the disc this can sometimes be the result of someone pulling open the drawer or pushing it shut. If it's self loading try getting a good disc cleaner .
They cost very little and it may be enough to clean the laser lense. So buy a basic cd or DVD cleaning kit . The disc will have small brushes on it to clean the laser .
Good luck

Invalid disc error message

how long have you been using this player? I suspect the laser (lens) of the player. I think the laser (lens) is weak that's why it cannot read data/files on DVD discs.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

Take care.

The laser (optical pick up) need repalcing usually an uneconomical repair in view of the low cost of DVD players noe.

Inside the machine the laser will sometimes adjust itself to a position just out of reach of the disc and you will get a "default message", so it doesn't necessarily mean you have the "wrong disc". This can be adjusted by yourself or take it in to be done. This is only, of course that you have covered the basics and cleaned the discs and inside machine. Just blow in it even, they do attract dust as dvd's are like a magnet to dust.

"Bad disc" message

You can buy a CD/DVD player cleaner, which is basically a set of brushes attached to a CD. This will gently brush the CD/DVD laser and hopefully that will restore your player to full working order.

Bad disc problem

I assume you claned the laser lens.

It may be an alignment problem, or the laser is on the edge of proper specs, or there is an electronics fault in the reading of the laser, or the servo control that is on the edge.

You cannot test the laser by assumption. To know if it is up to proper emission, you need the laser emission tester for DVD and CD lasers.

If you are experienced at aligning CD and DVD players, to check the alignment you will need the factory alignment disks, a 100 mHz digital scope, DVM, and the service manual.

My SD1009U not sensing the DVD.

Some of the panasonic models had motor problems that cuased them to start not reading disks and give a error code on the display. Maybe yours just has a dirty laser pickup and you MIGHT be able to gently clean it off and see if it will play again, other then that it might well be worn out. most newer machines have a dual laser pickup, one is tuned for pressed cd's and DVD 's and the other is tuned for cdrw and dvdrw style disks.
