IPod 30G when switched on Contact iPod support mess appeared

Hi, I switched on my iPod 30G and a message came up saying contact apple support beneath the illustration of an iPod with a sad face. I switched off and on and it made a strange noise like a CD slipping, a new message appeared saying connect to computer to restore iTunes. Ive connected it to my computer but its only displaying do not connect (in black and white) it doesnt seem to be charging and I cant switch on or off. My daughters MP3 isnt working either and my partner said that the two players were stuck together yesterday as if magnatised. I have an awful gut feeling about this, the iPod was a gift along with heaps of music that I can't replace, Id be heartbroken if all is lost. Im hoping for a miracle! Regards Dorne

Sorry, but I believe the sad mac is usually fatal for iPods. Give Apple a call and see what they have to say, but magnetized... So sorry for your loss

Kenwood dnx8120 ipod authorization error

From Kenwood Product support"

"
Thank you for contacting Kenwood USA Corporation. As an authorized agent for Kenwood, we are responding to your recent email inquiry.

Check the cable to see if it says "KENWOOD" on the part where it splits into three cable lines. Many locations are selling cables that appear to be the KCA-iP300V, but are not and do not have the Apple Authorization chip inside of them.

If it does show "KENWOOD," then try reseeting the iPod. This is done by switching the HOLD on and then off, and then pressing the Menu and Center buttons together until the Apple Logo appears.

Please feel free to contact us again with any additional questions.

Try this out: And let me know the status

  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.

Ipod video 30G

Hey, watch this tutorial and try the things it suggest.

Id highly recommend, restarting, and returning the device into the original state.

All this is covered in the video here:

http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/tutorials/troubleshooting.html

You can also try reinitializeing your usb ports from the device manager by uninstalling them and then restarting the pc to reinstall them.

If that doesnt help contact the appel support.
