Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

Connection screen my sansa wont show my menu or anything when unplugged from the USB and all it shows is a black screen with 'connected' and a blue circle with four arrows going counter clock wise... what can i do to go to my settings?

Use the Thumbwheel to rate the song (1 to 5 stars) then press

Songs can be viewed in MUSIC menu.

My Sansa e200 series is stuck on the splash screen and would not response on any or cannot be recognized by computer. Please assist

Battery and Black screen Blue ring: Remove the back and check and see if the battery isn't fully connected
I put a folded peace of paper and put it on top of the battery also push softly but firmly on the Rubber rectangle above the battery (This is the Chipset For the screen, Black screen Blue ring ) and put the back on.
Sansa Not Recognized: Try connecting it to another computer the back straight to the motherboard thIs should be USB 2.0 and see if it will recognize it as sansa or Drive/removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansas firmware and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize IF not try a laptop.... link for update software ( download to a flash drive much easier. Make sure USB mode is MSC
Recovery Mode may also allow your computer to recognize the sansa

RESET: Go into the settings and scroll down to reset all, push center button, scroll to yes, push center this will restore factory settings.....

If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.
This is what it states in the manual for the 260 sansa Page 29
Recovery Mode also resets system settings when unplugged...

Recovery Mode: download the update software and install then lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Start the update software if it doesn't start automatic goto /start /all programs /Sandisk/sansa updater/ sansa updater and start it up manually... follow instructions on the updater and the sansa. here is a link to a kid showing you how to goto recovery mode.

My MP3 player is frozen and it dosent show up on the computer?

Try and reset the player.
Reset the player:
1. Slide and hold the Power switch up for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power switch.
3. To turn the player on, slide the Power switch up then release instantly.

Then try this
Connect the player to your computer.
The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full.
- If the player does not turn on try other USB ports or on another computer if one is available. Make sure you are connecting directly to the computer USB port and not to a USB hub.
- If there is nothing showing on the screen and the player does show up in as a storage device in an explorer window, then the players screen is just not working.

If you receive the error "USB Device Not Recognized" on the computer, the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

Check the Device Manager
1. Right-click My Computer, and select -- > Manage.

Click Device Manager on the left pane.
NOTE: Sansa MP3 Players can connect to your computer in MSC or MTP mode.
MTP mode is the recommended and default method for Sansa Players when used with Windows OS.

The Sansa player will show up on Device Manager's right pane as:
1. USB Mass Storage device (if the player is set to MSC)
2. Portable Device (if the player is set to MTP mode)

If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) beside the device, try to refresh the drivers.

1. Right-click the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall.
2. On the top menu, click Action then select Scan for hardware changes.

My view wont do anything, when i turn it on the only thing it does is turn the dial light blue, nohing else, when i plu it in, nothing. the blue light will stay on for however long the battery lasts, is...

A Soft Reset
1. Hold Power switch up for 5 seconds.
2. Screen displays "Goodbye".
3. Restart

B. Hard Reset
1. Hold Power Switch for 30 seconds
2. Restart

C. Recovery Mode
1. Hold Power Switch for 5 seconds to switch device Off
2. Move switch to Hold
3. Press and hold Home button
4. Connect USB cable to device
5. Screen displays "USB" in small type and "16 MB Format" shows up in My Computer
6. Copy firmware files to "16 MB Format" drive letter
7. Disconnect USB cable
8. Screen displays "Firmware update"
9. Restart device

C. Force Format (This one wipes the data partition. Make sure all needed music/pictures/video exist elsewhere)

1. Hold Power Switch for 5 seconds to switch device Off
2. Move switch to Hold
3. Press and hold top/North/up of Scroll Wheel
4. Connect USB cable to device

Usb is not recognizing sansa

try going to "my computer" on your desktop and it should show an unkown device thats plugged into one of your drives

Can not down load voice recording to computer: Sansa 280.

You can try few simple steps like changing the USB ports, turning off & turning on the mp3 player and then reconnecting it, and then changing the USB mode on device: Menu --> Settings --> USB mode: MSC or MTP

I couldn't find Sansa on my computer when I connect with USB cable!

Go into the device manager by right clicking on my computer, hitting manage, and highlighting device manager. Expand the usb devices section and see if there are any unknown devices listed. Hit view Show hidden devices if you cant find anything. Remove anything that says unknown device. Take out the device from the computer, install the most recent software from their website. Connect the device back.

2 Suggestions: 1) It may be that the battery isnt charged, let the unit charge fully 2) If that doesnt work, its probably time to send the unit back to sandisk

MP3 problem

Mine does this, and so does my friend's player. Just unscrew the back, remove the battery for 30 seconds, put it back together. Works for me.
