Audio problems I have had this pc for a few years now and I have never been able to get the audio to work. When I go to control panel to adjust the audio settings ,when I turn the volume up it automatically turns itself back all of the way down.. Does anyone know a simple solution to fix this problem?

I have the same problem and i have come to know that the problem is with the sound card it pops out of the slot inside the casing of from the motherboard. i have tried several things but, it works for few days and then it poups out again. its only bad design the card is attached to the casing and not to the motherboard. Instead of using a ribbon cable for flexibility the sound card is clipped on the motherbord on one side and the casing on the other. So open it up and try you maybe more succesful then me, but probabpy its this same problem and not the dound driver

You need to update the drivers. Identify the device from the device mananger. THen google it. I am not sure you will find it unless vendor has it on its website.

PC volume control

Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel. Look for Audio or Sound in the control panel. Open it and adjust the volume controls. Make sure the volume is not on mute.

You can also click the megaphone at the bottom right near the time to Adjust Your Volume Control.

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve sound and audio problems.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats and media. It's totally FREE.

Hello Danial,

Someone on FixYa had the same problem with the username of "Viphunk". I've never encountered this problem when using an Xbox 360 controller for the PC. Viphunk mentioned that he "accessed his control panel" and fixed it. Maybe one of your controllers are configured, and one is not. I imagine you would do the following, but I'm not guarenteed.

1. Locate Start, and click "Control Panel".
2. Once at the Control Panel menu, double click "Game Controllers".
3. (Guess)-Click the name of the controller you are currently using, and click "properties".
4. You might find something in there that has your answer, or of course go back to Control Panel screen, and click "Sounds and Audio Devices, and explore in there.

If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
