Re: powering up

It's most likely your hard drive. You can do it yourself and get the software and hard drive or buy a pre-configured kit.

It could be the power supply/motherboard.

It's extremely hard to say without seeing the unit in person. A great place to send it is CCS in Indiana. They'll test it and replace/upgrade the drive (if you choose that option).

Had a power outage and now my TV is not showing any pictures except for the blue screenn

Outage may have changed the input channel on TV so make sure you're on the right one. Press and hold the Power button on cable box. Let that restart. Unplug the router for 10 seconds and let it boot up.

Philips 32" LED TV won't power on after power outage.

Sounds like some components on the power supply board were toast before the power went out. If a capacitor fails while running it will still function. However if you remove all power then try to restart it that failed capacitor will no longer function. has repair kits to fix common problems on these boards. This is the place if you're a do it selfer and need parts.

Hello, my name is Matthew Gonzales with DISH Network customer service. If you are still having this issue there are a couple things you can try if you have not. First, unplug the receiver from the power outlet it is connected to, leave it unplugged for about 20 seconds, then plug it back in. Your receiver goes through a rebooting process which takes about 5 minutes. Another thing to check is making sure that all of the "satellite in" connections are hand tight from the back of the receiver to the wall. The next thing to try is a check switch test. To do a check switch test, you press menu on your DISH remote, then press the numbers 6-1-1, (system setup-installation-point dish) you should be on the point dish screen. Go up and select "check switch" on the right-hand side, on the installation summary, select "test" at the bottom. The receiver will do some tests, if you get a warning 836 at the end, select "cancel" on the warning. Cancel out of all the menus and once again you will let your receiver reacquire the signal, and see if the problem persists. If problems do continue, a technician will be needed at the home to correct the problem. I hope this helps, but if you are still having this issue, please email me at so we can get everything back up and running.

Power outage. Lost all programs and not able to record.

Hi jollycay there is something else you can look at, youwant to press the Menu button and then press the numbers 6-1-3. It will takeyou to System Info 1, you will need to see if field F is green and if so I do apologizefor the loss of the recordings due to we have no way of recovering them. If thebox is not green please call in so we can take further action.

Lost power for one second and now cannot get my caller ID to work

unplug the telephone cable from the back of the receiver and plug it a basic telephone to check if there is a dial tone. if there is a dial tone restart the receiver without the the telephone line plugged in. after it loads and u have a picture, plug in the telephone line. call the home to check. if its not working the modem in the receiver has gone bad.

Tivo won't change my TV Channels anymore with direct cable

I re-did the guided setup in the Tivo under Messages & Settings/Restart-Reset System/Restart menu section in Tivo. Once I did that, it cleared this issue, even though I didn't have to change any of my settings thru this guided setup. I tried a reset alone first, but that did not fix it. Only this fixed it. We had lost both power and cable during a recent tree fall in a storm, and when both were restored, this problem started. I have a cable coax directly in the back of the TV (no cable box/IR etc) and the system is on a home wireless network. I actually have 2 identical Tivo's in the house set up the same way but only one had this problem. The other worked no different after the outage.

My DVR-625, wont even turn on.

at the time the hard drive problem came up the receiver would of went into recovery mode this can take a good hour for it to fix and can do nothing until it would finish on its own and take care of. Doing the power reset is just like unpluging the receiver. Try unpluging again for 30 minutes and plug back in again and just wait receiver should come back on its own. Don't hit any buttons. If not will have to send out to dish for repair. 800-333-3474 dish
