- Every time I turn my camera on the lens goes in and out about 4 times and then says "turn power on and off." Please help I am going on vacation in 3 days!!

- I have the same `turn off, turn on' problem too. When I send it to Sony for repairing, they charge me $220 for the lens change. That was exclude consultation fee of $10.70. It was really expensive which I think I can get a new one in Singapore. I wonder who can solve this problem instead of sending it to repair.- Guest May 04, 2009

- same problem here. It will open up, then close, then open again... then close once more... then it tells me to turn it off and on again.

I have a camara that has a problem.The problem is that when I take a picture (with the flash or not)the pictures appear with lines on the LCD view.This is the second camara with the EXACT SAME PROBLEM.I would like to know why this has been happening and what I can do to fix this camara.\r\nThank you very much.

i have the same problem..my camera actually fell down & i have been facing this "Turn off/on again" problem since then.....please can anyone provide the solution here????

when I turn on the camera I can view pics that I have taken but when I switch to picture or video mode I get the message to switch off and on again I keep trying but no luck

after having my sony cybershot on for a few seconds, it asks you to turn power off and on. THen after you do it just keeps repeating the same thing. "Turn power Off then On again" message no matter how many times you actually do it. I even bought a new battery, still doing it.

I took pictures and downloaded them to a computer. When later attempting to turn the camera backout, the lens attempted to come out, retracted, came out again, retracted again and this continued until a message appeared stating to "Turn the Power button off and on again".
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

hey, i have the same prob! except im on holliday in france!! i cant do anything about it. i only used it lss than 4 hours ago. and then when i switched it on again, it says, turn power off and on. what the hell? any suggestions??
ive connected it to the comp, and i can veiw all the pictures, and swap them over, but the lens wont come out!!!
its so frustrating!
