I have a Tascam DP-02CF, brand new. When first used, the power source was plugged in and the machine started when I pressed the power button, and shut down to a ''dark screen'' when I pressed the power button to shut it down. Now it starts up immediately just when plugged in (no effect from pressing power button at all), and when I power it down, it seems to work but leaves the screen lit up and blank. Is there something I can do myself to fix this, or are we talking about having to mail this to a Tascam Service Center. I am not happy with this product so far...LK

I'm really at my wits end with my Rode NT1 A microphone. I bought one of these microphones from Musicians Friends and when I got it it was Dead On Arrival. no sound at all...yea I plugged it into a phantom power source. Then I took it to Guitar Center and they gave it a try on their system and it didn't work for them either. I returned the microphone back to Musicians Friend and they sent me a new one. It worked great and had great sound. Then about two years later the new microphone suddenly dies. no sound. nothing. I barely used it very much and always kept it in the original box when I wasn't using it. This is my first condenser microphone ever and I'm concerned about these microphones, especially this brand. My Shure Dynamic microphones have been with me and have worked problem free for about 20 years or so. But I need a condenser microphone to record vocals properly. Are most condenser microphones as fragile and prone to not working suddenly like this one. Should I bother to repair this microphone or just trash it, and buy a different brand or something. Any suggestions would be helpful. I read a lot of reviews on this microphone and it seemed like a very good one so I bought it because of that. But now I'm confused. Anybody know of another brand that is built to last at least? Based on my experiences with this microphone I would never consider buying another one.
