you have convergence problems & these parts failure may be the reason for the shut down, but you could have other issues also.
My recommendation is to replace this antiquated unit with a NEW state of the art LCD or LED flatscreen.
Well first you have to ask you: How old is your TV? have you change the lamp before? Because this issue might be with your lamp, if you still hear a sound but there is no image. Probably the lamp burned when you where watching TV, i recommend to check the back of the TV to see if light comes out of it, if this is not the case you might have problems with your power supply board and you have to check with a tech so he can further assist you in person. Glad i could be of assistance!!
you have a bad surround sound board, you must replace the board or send it off to pts electronics for rebuild, to save money you can hook up a seperate stereo to your cable box or sat. box and take the tv out of the loop for sound.
hey there is sounds like your tv is trying to tell you to replace the lamp the lamp is running out of mercury gas and is starting do give up I recommend you get a new bulb
there is a switch on the back of the tv that has internal and external speakers slection i would check that especialy if you have hooked up any new componants
Basic TS - Turn tv off and unplug from wall outlet for 30 seconds. Make sure cable or sat box mute is off. Turn back on. If still no sound, just make sure that a dvd player, vcr or anything else connected to TV has no sound. Check antenna as well as cable or sat channels. If nothing has sound, call a serviceman to check out.
I would suggest that you smash
Philips HTS w/a hammer!
I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!
Check C514 next to flyback xformer.If shorted,burnt,replace with part # 1-161-754-00 102K / 3KV capacitor.May also have open 2 amp pico fuse in power supply......T
