Re: re: tv unable to program channels

So you want to connect your receiver thing to your tv ?
or your cable ?

Well if the antenna cable is hooked up, you should be able to simply run it up behind your tv and put it on the antenna plug.

The reveiver should attach to your tv with a cable provided.

Have a 17 yr old Magnavox and am unable to sellect aux channel so the dish will work

Hi there, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Dept with DISH. It is my pleasure to help you today. The channel or Input in which the Tv needs to be on in order to receiver DISH signal depends on the type of cable being used to connect the DISH receiver to the TV. If you are currently using a Coax cable the TV needs to be on channel 3 or 4 in order to get a pic, if you are using RCA cables it will need to be an Input. To change inputs on the TV we advice you to use the original remote for the TV or the Input/Source button on the Tv itself. Feel free to contact me at: for additional assistance.

Hi carltonmarcumy name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and for the TV2 you want the Modularset to cable and channel 73, and then make sure the TV itself is set to channel73. After you have the modular set to channel 73 and the TV set to channel 73and you do not see a DISH Network picture you will then make sure theconnections from the wall to the TV are tight as well as from the receiver tothe wall. Then you will want to unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug itback in it will power up and acquire the signal and once you see that check TV2and you should see the same thing on the screen. I will send a link that will helpout with these steps.

Unable to to get cable channels in modulator. Set to cable, channels 73/75 but "connection" grayed out. Cable signal strong. Able to read Digital channels on Local set up with same i/p.

The connection button is not utilized from the "Modulator Setup" screen. When changing the channel for TV 2, you can arrow over to either air or cable and pressing select. This will select that option and change the channel to either 60 for air or 73 for cable. Once this selection is made then you would move to the "Done" button and press select. You will return to the "Installation" menu, then cancel out till you are back to the TV screen. I hope this helps.

Unable to pick up local ''free'' channels following digital change over. Using RCA DTA800 converter and Phillips 2750/27 antenna. Can pick up only one local channel, but signal loss is more often the...

first of all, make sure all your connections are secure and threaded all the way in. Next, go to the main menu and press 5 (configuration) and press 1 (search for channels) if this doesn't work, press 4(signal strength meter) and see how strong your signal is. You may just need to re-position your antennae. If all else fails try system reset(number 5) and repeat search for channels. I've had similiar experiences with mine but I have a 62% signal strength and still get 20-something channels. Hope this helps.

How can I get audio and video out from my tv if it only has audio and video in.I'm trying to connect a dvd recorder to record programs off the tv but tv does'nt have output signal.

connect dvd input cable (three banana plugs red, white, and yellow) to the video and audio output on a vcr, then take a screw on cable from the Ant. to the vcr. you will have to tune the vcr to the programs channel to record the picture. The vcr manual should tell you where the signal will be going, The picture should also go to the tv on ch 3 or 4 as when you play a vcr tape.

On-screen menu works but channel search yields no channels.

if you can access tv menu go to settings that show source(antenna/cable)highlight cable setting and hit search/program ;tv should go through all the channels and scan them into memory. it just might be that it is still under antenna setting .try solution ,it might be what's wrong.

TIVO DVR : Won't Change Channels

Set up your infrared blasters connected from your IR port on the Tivo and by placing the two lead lights in front of your cable box so it (the cable box) can read the signal.  Then go to Channel settings accessed through Tivo Central and follow the questions. It will ask you to change channels until the remote is working correctly.  This all worked on a different "input" on my Mitsubishi TV (it has multiple inputs.  I have the cable input on a different "input" to make it work.  Hope this helps.  Call TIVO tech assistance because they are the ones who talked me through this.

Off-air antenna volume issues

Make sure you have the correct audio settings set on the HR10. Go to messages and setup, settings, audio and play with the different settings and see if you can't get any audio to come on.

If you are able to get a dolby 5.1 audio signal through your receiver on another hd channel, then you should be getting and audio signal on your locals.

If you aren't able to get any dd 5.1 audio on hd channels, then I'd suggest (if you can) bypass the receiver and go directly to your tv (if it has speakers).

Female coax connector in tv bad?

Did the cable person take a reading on the signal level at the cable outlet on the wall and did the cable person check the TV setting to make sure they are correct. TV could be set on the wrong channel also.
