Glycol is a clear liquid in a sealed unit that cools the face of each of the three tubes--if it has leaked you will not see a large amount--it will look like discoloration--white on top of the front few inches of the circuit boards--if you see any of this DO NOT TOUCH IT--it is 10 times more toxic than anti-freeze! It damages circuit boards-----from the front of the set with the speaker grill and inspection plate behind it removed look very close at the first few inches of the 3 circuit boards--it will not look like a large thing--subtle---discoloration of parts on top of board--- like a white powder or discoloration of solder connections--a little like battery cables in a car that go bad..... this is a older set and lots of these had this kind of problem--the later sets they made actually had a plastic tray under the tubes to catch any that leaked. I hope you do not find signs of Glycol--it is usually fatal in these sets. I am here to help. Regards SD TECH
Unusual--2, then 4 means problem in Vertical deflection circuit---you may want to look for coolant leaks from the center crt--do you know what I am talking about?
the next time it shuts off press on the front of the set both the menu and input buttons for 5 seconds and release both---power light on set should blink a two digit code--it will repeat it 10 times---this may point you in what direction the problem is... There is currently on this site a glitch where when clarification requests are posted we do not see a response--if you need more help you can re-post with what the error code was or SEARCH MY MANY SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS here.
