Your computer has its own personal i-tunes for your i-pod and all your music is saved to that computer so if you plug your i-pod into someone elses computer it will eighther sync all thier music to your i-pod or it will erase all the music on your i-pod they dont have on thier computer...my sujjestion is to buy a plug in to the wall charger for your i-pod if your barely home to charge it. that way you keep your music yet charge your i-pod to.

Hi I have a playlist on my itunes which when I download it onto my ipod, one of the songs is missed off. This song shows and plays on the playlist on itunes, and is on the main menu of my ipod, just not...

  1. Plug in your iPod to your computer and run iTunes.
  2. Sync your device.
  3. Re-check to make sure that song is under that specific playlist (if its not drag it onto the playlist)
  4. Make sure the box next to the song in iTunes is checked meaning it will sync with your iPod and your playlist.
  5. Apply the changes you have made to the playlist by re-syncing your iPod.
  6. If the box is checked and you sync your device the song should be listed under your playlist.

Uninstall itunes from your computer and re-install the same itunes version you had before. Make sure your ipod is fully charged and then plug it in and have a go at it.

Maybe you should try this third ipod manager tool - Daniusoft iPod transfer:

Key-features:
1. Sync videos/songs from computer to iPod without iTunes ;
2. Backup videos/songs off iPod to computer smoothly ;
3. Transfer iPod video/music to iTunes .

I always use it to sync my iPod when my iTunes can't recognize my iPod, it's easy to use and works pretty well.

I have downloaded music onto my computer and want to transfer it to my ipod shuffle. How do I do this?

You just need to import your song into iTunes library, then make a playlist with the songs, plug in your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu "File -> Sync iPod", the songs will be transferred from iTunes to iPod.

How To Add songs on ipod?

You need to use iTunes, download it here: www.apple.com/itunes/overview. Now if you bought your iPod used you won't have to go through the iPod set up, but if you did buy new then you will have to. After you've done all this, you need to add all your songs to your iTunes library, you can burn your CDs to it or buy them off the iTunes store. Then plug your iPod into your computer and select it in the iTunes sidebar, now if you want to manually put your songs onto your iPod, then scroll all the way down and check the box that says "Manually manage Music and Videos" if you want iTunes to automatically put all your songs onto your ipod then just click "Sync."

Hope this helps!

Music on iPods with different s/Nos. mixed up

Connect iPod to computer.
Open up iTunes.
Click on the icon on the left sidebar of iTunes that says "iPod Nano".
Click on the Music tab.
You will notice that at least one folder has been set to "Sync music" - the songs in these folders will be automatically loaded onto your iPod everytime you connect it to your computer. I would suggest separating the music folders that you use and the folders that your wife uses on your computer itself. Then, you can sync only the songs in your own personal folder.
Alternatively, you can disable the "Sync Music" option altogether by unchecking the box.

Whichever choice you make, you will now need to manually go in and delete the songs you don't want.
You can do this by clicking on the Music icon underneath the iPod Nano icon on the left sidebar of iTunes. Find a song you no longer want on your iPod, right-click the song, and select delete.

Good luck!

I pod touch

ipods are only designed for itunes so windows shouldn't recognise media player, any way, the new software for ipod touches is greater, meaning your computer/windows media player wont recognise it, only itunes will.
Cheers

Downloading music from computer

Musicmatch songs won't work on Ipods. Musicmatch has been discontinued since it was acquired by Yahoo last year. If you have songs in MP3 format those can be used in ITunes.

Sync your iPod with iTunes

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer.
  2. When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.
  3. If the Summary pane isn't showing, click the Summary tab.
  4. To automatically sync your iPod:
    1. Make sure that "Manually manage music" is not selected.
    2. Click the Music tab and do one of the following:
    3. To automatically update your iPod with all the songs and playlists in your library, select "Sync music" and then select "All songs and playlists." iTunes loads the songs and playlists in your iTunes library onto your iPod, and deletes songs from your iPod that aren't in your library.
    4. To automatically update your iPod with only certain playlists, select "Sync music" and "Selected playlists," and then select the playlists you want synchronized.
  5. To manually sync your iPod:
    1. Make sure that "Manually manage music" is selected.
    2. Click Music (below Library, on the left side of the iTunes window) and then drag songs and playlists to your iPod.
