Inside the case you will find 2 PCB's. One is a controller and the other is your powersupply. On the power supply look for some Radial Lead Electrolytic Capacitors. Replace any that are swollen on the end or deformed in any way. Electrolytic capacitors can go bad over time the swelling is an indication of this. I have the same model screen as you. I replaced 3 capacitors that were swollen and this fixed the problem. You will see 2 values on the capacitors ####uF ##v. The first is the microfarad value this should be the same value. The second is the voltage rating it can handle. As a general rule these capacitors should be rated at twice the voltage they handle.
Sometimes increasing this value can reduce the chance of repeated failure.

I had the same problem, and putting in bigger capictors, solved the problem, they were 16 volt before, we replaced them with 35 volt capictors.

Hi Guys, I solved this problem by turning off the power saver settings. Make sure its off and sleep mode is off. Then reboot, monitor should work. One more thing. Never shut it off!

Monitor cable disconnected internally?

follow http://www.insidemylaptop.com/replace-screen-on-dell-latitude-e5420-laptop/
and disconnect, clean and reconnect ALL monitor related cables. (You may need a new screen if that fails)

You may check your laptop by connecting an external monitor first.

Dell monitor screen suddenly went white. Can it be fixed?

I have a strong suspicion that you have burned a capacitor or two on the monitor. You will need to bring this in to have it serviced as it will require the monitor to be opened up and new capacitors replaced/resoldered.

Princeton 19" went from bright white to dull white

david78910, First disconnect and reconnect the monitors VGA plug from pc vga port a few times to make sure of good connection at the port. Report back here with results! If that doesn't fix your "pink screen" symptom, then possible bad inverter supply inside unit or the CCFL tubes may have lots and lots of "on" hours use on them and need to be replaced. Yes, you could also have bad (almost dead) switch-mode-power-supply inside unit if "known-good" monitor works perfectly with your pc. 12fixlouie

Blue power button flashing with blank screen

This is most likely the power inverter board in the monitor - this is common in many monitors. If it started taking longer and longer to display an image, and the power light is blinking on-and-off, that's the problem. You can confirm that it's the monitor and not your computer or the cable by plugging in another monitor if you have one to try.

If it's under warranty, send it back, if not, there are inverter boards for many common models of LCD monitors that are replaceable. The board can run anywhere from $50 on up. Depending on how old it is, you may find it better to just replace it with a gently used one from ebay.

Sounds like the data cable has come loose from one end of the monitor cable. Disconnect and reconnect it.

Turn on the monitor the screen says "out of range" in a small window and turns off

Lower down resoluction and color quality to minimum on your pc, using 'display properties' in Windows. Connect the monitor back to pc with minimal settings. If it works is done.
If it still does not work there is a major problem with the monitor. In this case It should be opened and tested inside following schematics. In this case you may need to take the monitor to a service in your area.

Problems with my DCL9A

As posted here http://www.fixya.com/support/t315752-dcl9a_white_screen.

Capacitors have many functions but I would most certainly check your powersupply inside the monitor. Capacitors are also used to remove the 60 hz Sine Wave Ripple (hum) that commonly causes interferance in electronics. Though the AC has most likely been converted to DC a side effect is pulsed DC. The capacitor charges up and slowly discharges to smooth out the pulse. A bad capacitor wont charge and discharge or work less efficient than before. Either way the whole point is . . .
Wether your experiencing a white screen or simply interference, check all components related to the power supply first.
