Can't remove music

I can't remove any music from my player. I've tried every media program I have, even sansa's and when I connect it says that I have 1.3 mb free but doesn't list any of the music that's on my player. I can't remove any music!

I haved tried deleting in MSC and MTP mode... The problem is that not all the files show up in Windows Explorer, Media player or Real player. They are like ghost files. I can access them on the device but they dont show up when connected to any PC so I cant delete them. Weird? Yup!

  • fedupalready Jan 06, 2008

I got my solution from the Sansa website forum. Connect the player to the computer. Go to My Computer and view it as a drive. Select to view all files including hidden files and your music will show up and you can delete the unwanted music files.

The best way to delete the music that is on the player is to individually play the song and then select the menu key on your player, adn scroll down to delete song. THis should delete the song. Also to delete all songs on your player, go to the extras menu, select settings, scroll down to system options, in this menu if you scroll down you will see the word format select this and it should format the whole player. THis will Delete everything. Unless of course sansa has a new glitch their not telling us about. ALso it is very helpful to anyone who has one of these to download the updater from sansa's website and update the firmware.

Here's what happened to my computer... (though yours may be a bit different o-o)

After I plugged it in, I went to My Computer, right click, Open as a portable media device. Then you can click on the file it shows and get into the music folder to add/delete.

For some stupid reason, it wouldn't show most of my files unless I went in that way o3o

Yeah, but how do you delete the default music samples that come with the player. THAT is what I'm looking to know.

Again, using msc mode, right click the drive and select format. That should get rid of everything on the drive, including the files causing your problem. Hopefully you have backups of the files, because with these devices, anything can and does happen to them. Then, start over transferring files to your mp3 player. Let me know if that clears things up!!!

Go into settings, select mode, then select msc. When in this mode you can look at the player's drive, by going into my computer, then selecting the player. In this mode you can transfer music back and forth from computer to player, in both directions. MTP mode is only used with Microsoft Media Player. If you stick with msc mode, and browsing the unit as a drive, you can't go wrong.

I have a SanDisk Sansa how do I download the music from my Imac to the Sansa, I've connected it to the Imac but I don't see how to downlaod the music

Is the SanDisk showing as a drive on the Imac? You should be able to drag files from the Music folder to the Sansa player to copy them. (You can't connect to ITunes and download directly to the player.)

I hope this helps.

Someone gave me there Sansa Fuze mp3player but they didn't have the instruction booklet. I'm trying to find out how I download things to the mp3 player

You need a USB cable which you need to connect to your computer. This cable also serves as a charger. You will probably need to load(rip) the music from a CD to your computer into a program called Windows Media Player. Then you will use this program (Windows Media Player) to "sync" your MP3 player to the computer from which you can download music to your MP3 player. [email protected]

How do i download music to my San Disk Sansa clip MP3 player?

You shold be able to sync the Sansa to your media player on your computer by just connecting the supplie dthe cable to the USB port and open windows media player. If you are just trying to dump songs on to it then all you need do is connect the sansa and go to my computer find the new device, open the device and copy your music from the folder you hvae it in and drop it directly to it. The Sansa is not like the I Pods that use software to sync music. Basically it is like a flash drive (thumb Drive) or a hard drive.

Sansa keeps shutting off/ wont read memory disk

The issue you have described with your portable device in most cases can be resolved by formatting your device. Please follow these steps even if you have already attempted them once before.

Please note that this will remove all music from your device.

Formatting the device in Windows Media Player

1. Open Windows Media Player with your MP3 player connected to the computer

2. At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top

3. The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"

4. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media" click this button to erase all the data from the player

5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.

How to insall sansa e260 mp3

My same player did not come with the CD. Depending on which program you use to get your music on your player, the CD is not needed. Try connecting your sansa to your computer and open whatever program you use for your music.
