Question about Kenwood KDC-MP435U CD Player

1 Answer

Display Just bought this unit. Have power. CD's load and eject, and security lite flashes when face plate is removed, but display will not come on at all. Have tried reset button and re-installing face plate to no avail. Also have no back lighting when lights are turned on. I have triple checked the wiring and have it correct all the way to the connector at the back of the unit. Could it just be a bad face plate?

My bose CD player is not working my cd are stuck I don,t why

Good luck this should do it.

If you have a cd or two stuck in your Bose wave radio, here's how to remove it and save yourself $99. This procedure is for the radio (model AWRCC1 or similar) with a single front loading cd slot.
PART I
1. First unplug the power, wait a minute, and then replug power, watching the front display.
2. The display will read "Ejecting". If the cd ejects, then you're done and can skip Part II. If it doesn't eject and/or it displays "Disk error" then you'll need to do the Part II steps.
PART II
1. Unplug the power cord.
2. Turn the radio upside down with the front facing you.
3. Remove the 5 screws from the bottom plate.
4. Hinge the front of the bottom plate up no more than 2". Don't overdo this or you'll damage various ribbon cables inside. Use extra hands or a prop to keep it open this amount.
5. Reach inside and tilt-up the front of cd player's metal housing just enough to access the rims of the cd(s) within the space created in step 4.
6. Pinch the rim(s) of the cd(s) and gently pull it/them out.
7. Reverse these steps to reassemble your radio.
Enjoy your cd player again!

The cd will load and eject but the faceplate will not cut on.

Two reasons arre possible:
1. the faceplate contacts to the hoding connector cane be faulty, you can remove and check the position of the face plate and the pressure to the contact. clean and adjust if this works when pressed into.
2. The linking flexible cord would have snapped or cracked and so the display unit will not be powered or detected as the transfer data is not available to the main processor.
Remove the panel and check the continuity of the wire or replace.

There is no display on the faceplate. The faceplate is stuck in the CD eject position. If I remove the faceplate the mechanism rotates to the position where the controls would be visible but when I attach...

I would try cleaning the connectors on the face plate with an pencil eraser and on the unit itself with a very fine sand paper. And make sure you get rid of any dust after cleaning before putting the face plate back on.
Please leave me a good feedback.
Thanks

Unable to remove faceplate or eject cd on kenwood

remove the to of the unit, then the two in the actual cd player, pull out cd player, there will be two more screws, these hold the faceplate assembly in place, remove them. This will allow you to pull a small plastic hook down to let the face plate slide out. then remove the face plate from it's holder, slide it out. Remove the four screws on the back of the faceplate inside the there is a very small piece of plastic that has a hole at one end and squared at the other. This is the problem causing piece. I suggest super gluing this piece where it attaches to the inside of the faceplate. This should fix the problem.

CD will not eject from unit.Word'IN' keeps

you can try either pushing the reset switch (which will be a small indentation either on the face or the subpanel behind the face) or disconnect power to the radio for a few seconds.

Nakamichi MB-70 CD player - cannot get cd to eject

Having just removed three discs from an identical unit which also jammed, I will say how easy that was. I do not know if the unit will now function when reinstalled in the vehicle.

Remove the unit from its mounts, remove the outer "frame" (if fitted), remove the two #2 phillips pan head screws from the sides holding the face to the chassis, remove the four #0 phillips screws (black, flat head) from the top and bottom of the face plate.

Slide the face plate off and carefully handle it while tethered by its ribbon wire.

Turing the unit upside down, peer into the opening and observe the disc, gently press the carriage away from the top of the unit (now the bottom, as it is inverted) and allow the disc to be freed, simply pull the disc out.

If there are multiple discs stuck inside, oberve the large metal gear just inside, carefully rotate the gear to actuate the loading mechanism as needed to release addtional discs.
