Toshiba 43vs9ua rear projection tv picture problem

When tv first turned on either a frosty picture, blue colors come out red and vise versa, but still not very clear, or picture has lead like colors through certain parts. For example a person with a hat will have distorted silver or black lines through. Sometimes after awhile the picture returns to perfect, but very random and picture will fail again in time. Picture is never right when tv turned on for first time in day after being off for hours. That is the situation when watching foxtel through a set top box and also free to air tv through any input. I have an xbox 360 through the 4th input which is hd and never have any picture problems, Tv was bought new about 2 years ago and problems started about 2 months ago. I now tv is still under warranty but just wondering if a solution is still available.
thanks

I have the same model 43VS9UA. I have had it for 4 years now. Early this year there was load shedding in our country and the television started showing mixed colors when switching on and an hour or so the picture came out normal. Later it was taking longer for for the picture to normalise that when after 5 hours there was no clear picture I decided not to use it anymore. Thinking that because our electricity is fluctuating a lot I connected it to the UPS to normalise the power supply. It worked for some time and now it back to the same problem. It only shows lines. I assume our power supply is still not stable that is why the picture does not come out.

TV picture is red.

Normal color picture is composed with 3 colors R-G-B (Red-Green-Blue). Picture turns Red means: Missing Green and Blue colors (many reasons: bad contacts, projector tubes dead, and other...). Try to give some "tabs" to diagnose ... I don't know what is the type of your Projection TV, how long you owned it, to have more idea.

Toshiba TP50G50 Theaterview picture is double with red color only

Your alignment is off. Go to the set up menu then convergence. hit right and you will be in the convergence menu. select the color that is not in alignment. The green line does not move. if blue and green are lined up the line will be cyan. if red and green are lined up the line will be yellow. when all three are lined up the color will be light. Best of luck!

You might have burned out the red color crt. In projection TV's there are 3 CRT's (one for blue one for red, and one for green). If you have the other 2 colors but no red I would assume this is your problem. You should be able to get it fixed for around $150.
