Question about Gateway FPD1530 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
My FPD1530 no longer displays anything except for a brief moment on startup. The power button is lit up but the display goes black.
There are multiple curcuits for this model.
Quick turn off of the backlight can be caused by deteriorated solder connectiond on Q6 & Q10 on the power supply/inverter board. Resolder and reassemble. (board mfgr: BI Electronics)

I recently fixed 4 fpd1530's with the problem you describe. The fix is to replace capacitors c105 and c106 located on the left side of the power supply board. Both are 1 microfarad 50V parts. The fpd1530 is very easy to work on. Total repair time after initial diagnosis averaged about 10 minutes.

I had the same problem but i fix it.
Open your screen and remove the power pcb.
Take a look on solder side, if your problem is the same
then mine you should see a bad or cold solder. Remake this solder and it should be ok after.
The cold solder can be on the small coil .

Time to replace the monitor if it can be repaired it would cost more than a new one.if you can find a tv repair shop that does free estimates im sure they will verify that.
