Computer does not recognize device and does not sync because there is no device. yet the nano is connected. I have 2 other media mp3 players that connect and sync without a hitch. Okay all you all need is itunes! (unless you already have it) when you have itunes just put your cd in and click yes to "do you want to import cd" or if you have music on your computer just drag the files into itune's library when it is done importing the music just click on music underneath the subheading of library then select your music and drag to your ipod's music.

How to down load a song to my appleipod nano 2gb?

To download songs to iPod nano: m Simply connect iPod nano to your computer. If iPod nano is set to update automatically, the download begins. Important: The first time you connect iPod nano to a computer, a message asks if you want to transfer songs automatically. If you accept, all songs, audiobooks, and other items are deleted from iPod nano and replaced with the songs and other items from that computer. If you don’t accept, you can still download songs to iPod nano manually without deleting any of the songs already on iPod nano. While music is being downloaded from your computer to iPod nano, the iTunes status window shows progress, and the iPod nano icon in the Source list flashes red. When the download is complete, a message in iTunes says “iPod update is complete.” If you set iTunes to download music manually, you can reset it later to update iPod nano automatically. For more information, see “Updating iPod nano Manually” on page 22. To reset iTunes to update iPod nano automatically with all songs and playlists: 1 Open iTunes and select iPod nano in the Source list. 2 Click the Options button and click Music. 3 Select “Automatically update all songs and playlists.” The download begins automatically.

MY IPOD NANO IS FROZEN

i will be glad to assist you with this. If this step doesnt help please let me know and i can instruct you on how to reset your ipod.
  1. Toggle the Hold switch. To do this, slide the switch to Hold (an orange bar appears) and then slide it back (orange bar is hidden).
  2. Reset the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, connect the iPod to a power source by either plugging it into an Apple iPod USB Power Adapter or directly into a computer's USB port.
  3. Let the iPod charge for at least 20 minutes. Note: If the iPod is connected to a computer, make sure the computer does not sleep, standby, or hibernate during the 20-minute charging period.
  4. After the iPod has charged for at least 20 minutes and while it is still connected to the power source, toggle the Hold switch again as in step 1.
  5. Try resetting the iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons for 10 seconds.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect the iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If the iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the Apple logo does not appear or the iPod is not seen in iTunes, try putting the iPod into disk mode and restoring.
  6. Try putting the iPod into disk mode.
    • While in disk mode, connect the iPod to iTunes and try to restore.
    • If the iPod is still not recognized by iTunes, the iPod should be serviced.
If you need further assistance please feel free to follow up with a comment and i will be here to assist you. If this assisted you please feel free to rate the solution. thanks and have a great day.

After takg my ipod off charge it just fades why is

Hi there,

You have a dead battery on your iPod nano. I suggest to you, if you have basic knowledge in electronics, that you buy a spare battery for your ipod nano off Ebay. Lookup some videos on Youtube that will assist you in disassembling your iPod Nano and replacing the battery.

The battery should cost less than $20- a repair an iPod owner should opt in keeping their music device in continual use and longer life span.

Hope I have been of assistance to you,

Cheers :)

Computer won't read my ipod.

It might be that your USB port is not giving the iPod enough power to connect and charge etc. but you can go into device manager and change how much power is fed into it.
