Mitsubishi VS-50603 50 in. Rear Projection can i replace the mirror myself

First of all you need to check with the nearest service dealership for the availability of the mirror and the cost of the unit. Normally the cost from such dealerships will include to an extend the replacement cost and so it will be wise to have it done in the first case than to set it up and watch a distorted image if the aligment is not proper as the fall could also have shifted the alignment.

Disassembling Mitsubishi VS50603

Yes, it is possible!
Your set has three picture tubes, also known as CRT's, when the set is on there is aprox 30,000 volts going to the CRT's usually on large red wires that come from a common point. The CRT's can store a charge, the manufactures do put some circuits in that should drain that voltage away but if the set had a problem it may not happen.
Also, the CRT's are sealed in a vacume so if they are hit the wrong way can implode, all the glass gets sucked in toward the middle then flys outward. Another concern is inside the CRTs is a phospher coating, not good for you.

The power supply will need to be changed. The capacitors inside the power supply are not sending the correct amount of power to tv and will need to be changed.

I have a Mitsubishi VS-50603 that will not turn on.

Good Day, jessayala;
It sounds like you may have Ethylene Glycol on the boards, leakage from the TV's CRT's. The Glycol is a fluid that help's the tube cool. If you are not handy, very, very handy, I would call an Authorized Service Center to come out and give you an estimate before the repair is performed.

Good Luck, big IRISH......PS..... If can handle your self ..... come back here.

Mitsubishi TV VS-50603 displays only a green image, was working perfectly up to several weeks ago.

this model is famous for fluid leaks. each projector tube has a reservoir on the front of it with a fluid in it. this keeps the face of the tube cool. when we get one of this models with weird problems we always look for these leaks on the pc boards. this fluid is hard to find on the board.
in most cases we can reseal the tube and clean up the fluid 400-600. you really need to have it looked at. it could be something different.

1998 mitsubishi big screen tv model vs-50603

Good Day, bigjim;

No inner tube. The tube may light up but it no video bias to turn the tube on, or the tube is so gassy that it doesn't emit properly.

It sounds like you will be in the market for another TV, because it sounds like like the CRT may be bad.

Hope this was helpful and not tooo late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.
