Region code 2 on LG DV492H not playing DVD with same code

You could try to set you firmware to Region 0 (all countries) you can do this with the remote

Eject the disc tray, and while it's open hit 0 - 0 (two zeros) on the remote.

Then enter 0 for the region code (for all regions.)

Trying to play dvd but says wrong region soneynhv-dx350ab?

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution. This is usually associated with trying to play NTSC formatted DVD's on this PAL player. As you might not know even if the unit is set region free (Region Code 0) the movie is still encoded for NTSC.

You can also get this problem if you are using S-Video plug with a SCART Adapter and the switch is set to output instead of input something to do with the internal pins. I recommend using SCART to SCART or HDMI if you have it

Converting up to 1080

Hello. You have to use the HDMI port and connect to the HDMI, or DVI, port on the back of the TV to get 1080. Even if playing HDDVD, this cable is necessary to get the increase. That, and the TV has to be in 1080 too. If you look at the display, on the front of the player, while watching the DVD, it will tell you at what resolution the DVD is playing. The HDMI to HDMI/DVI must be installed to get the increase in resolution. I have a Panasonic HD 34" 1080i widescreen TV, with DVI connection. When connected, the player played my DVD's at 1080i on my TV, while at only 480i thru the composite cables.

On some older movies or series(I like Star Trek- TNG), it doesn't work well due to the transfer to the DVD. Most newer DVD's, such as Batman Begins (there is an HD out, but I have DVD only), improved on the upconvert for me nicely.

Movie does not play

Try playing Different DVDs, Second Make sure which Region Disk your playing is it Region 1 or Region 2, If your DVD player is Manufactured in USA it plays only Region 1, If its manufactured in UK it plays only Region 2, If still you face same problem Use Lens Cleaner, If still you face same problem do Reset.
To Reset Dvd player, Remove DVD from Dvd Player, Unplug Power chord from Walloulet for 15minutes so player goes to Defult Factor Settings, Then plug back again Power chord. Turn on Dvd player insert DVD, It should Play or else Claim Warranty.
