My new canon 100d is not switching on

My new canon 1000d is not switching on when I put it on. it only goes on when i remove the battery and puts it back again.What is the problem? how can I solve it?

If it is new, look in your manual and make sure you have properly followed the setup process. If you have, and the camera has been used and was OK before,then it is faulty, and therefore you should return it to your supplier for repair under warranty.
