Hi thanks for info, settings in the security centre are all ok, I have run chkdsk and it ran fine and did everything as instructions, but as soon as PC rebooted the update icon appeared in the bottom of the screen, so I reinstalled the updates again, it says install complete, but as soon as you turn off and then go back on its there again, I have checked on the update site and reviewed the history and the same downloads are just going over and over again, this has been going on since April for these two updates, it always says they are sucessful. The updates security update for XML core services 4.0 service pack 2 (KB954430) and update for windows XP (KB967715). I have also been on the task schedular and tried to add a new task on the wizard for the updates but it goes all the way through and then comes up with an error message 0x80070005 Acess is denied.

It sounds like a setting in the security center that got changed to me, rather than something deleted. Try this: Go to Start>Control Panel>Security Center and choose the lower Automatic Updates from the Manage my settings at the bottom of the window. Make sure the pop up window has automatic checked on.
If you can't change that setting for some reason, go to windows update, here, and manually update your system. Apply any critical or security updates it recommends, reboot the computer twice, then check the security center and see if you can set automatic updates to automatic. That should stop you from being prompted to download and install updates.
If this procedure doesn't work for some reason, then you may indeed have deleted some important system file, and we'll need to run chkdsk or sfc scannow to repair the corrupted system files. Write back with the results and we can take it from there.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Sorry it's been awhile, I was out of touch.

I don't know what's causing those particular updates to fail. I can only say it looks like some kind of permission problem or registry issue that windows updates is not finding the correct information for installation. There are MS tools like SubInACL that can correct this, but they reset a lot of registry settings and I'd avoid them if you can. Better not to be purging the registry, as you've learned.

And I believe MS offers free support for update issues, so their advice would be the best to follow, unless the end of support for xp included that as well.

In any event, neither update appears to be a critical security issue. Please read about them in the links below. See possibly here or here for support links & known issues with each update, and one solution is the last post here.(once you're sure they're installed.)

My advice is to read the similar queries & then if necessary post your question at the MS newsgroups site for windows update and see if the experts there have an answer. Include the details of the error, including your OS & sp#, the stop error code and both KB #s, as you did for me.

In the meantime, you might read the other posts there that involve the KB article you mentioned, to see if there are pertinent resolutions. See KB967715 here and KB954430 here.

    Good luck.\

How can i remove ustechsupport.mycleanpc from my computer?

Hi
Presumably you are using Win 7 or 8. When you want to run SpyBot, right click on the icon and from the menu that comes up, select "Run as Administrator" and click on it. By doing this you elevate the functioning of SpyBot so that it runs as if started by an Administrator rather than a User. It can then remove items that require Administrator rights for their removal.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

Hello there,

Just do a Windows Update. Of course by doing this, your windows copy of license should be guinuine, otherwise, it would cost you more trouble.

After updating, you need to reinstall the magic jack again.

Spyhunter is Malware. IT's as bad as what you're trying to remove. You could try Spybot Search and Destroy. I've found it to be the best protection against Malware and Spybots. There is probably a file that starts up every time you log into Windows that reactivates the program and reinstalls it. You should to into "Start" > "Run" and then type in "msconfig" > "Enter" Under the startup tab you can try unchecking some of the programs you don't recognize. One of them maybe the one that is causing this. Be careful as some of these are programs that you want to start and that Windows needs. You can also delete or move the shortcuts under "All Programs" > "Startup". It may be loading up there.

There is also an article on removal here.

I was deleting files on my computer, trying to make extra space, and I accidentally deleted the sound.

Go to the manufacturers web site, find your model and the drivers should be right there.

After you are whole again, please go to PCPITSTOP.com and have them do a free scan of your computer. They will give you a comprehensive report with some recommended fixes. Some fixes are $ and some are free.

Please get CCleaner (google it) and let this free program do your house keeping duties. Use the first two routines on the top left.

Please ber Comodo Reg Cleaner, another wonderful free to use cleaner that will work on your registry.

Please get Spy Bot, search and destroy at PC world - another free utility. Dont be misled, get the free one called Spy Bot - search and destroy.

I use these at least monthly and usually weekly to keep my computer in good shape.

Following yor cleanup, please defrag your drive using either windows defrag or Defraggler, a free utility from the same folks that make CClean.

I hope this helps you

How to remove trojan gamethief.win32.online games.blvd

Removing Trojans may be a difficult task, sometimes the only way out is making a backup of your files and reinstalling the operative system from scrap.

Try using Spy bot, that is one of the most powerful anti spyware tools.

Download spybot from link below and do a complete scan:

AVG slowing computer

Spybot is an anti-spyware program, which shouldn't affect the anti-virus at all. The thing is, though, you can have as many anti-spyware programs as you want, but only one virus scanner. Otherwise, things get messed up. But As long as there are no Norton, McAfee, CA Antivirus, Kaspersky, or things like that on the computer, you should be fine. Also, check your scanning schedule to see if maybe it is running a virus scan every time you boot to Windows. That would cause things to slow down tremendously. And you can go to Start > All Programs > Startup and delete things you don't need running when you start Windows. If you want, you can delete everything in that menu without any real negative effect. Those things can be started manually if you need them to.
