Question about Philips DVP3340V

DVP334V cant connect to my LCD TV

I cant connect my Philips DVP3340V DVD/VCR player to my LCD TV. The DVP3340V has no connections for a cable connection. All they sent me was a single connector and a double connector RCA cables. Can anyone tell me how to connect the TV to the DVD/VCR player? . The TV has no video in nor video out. It does have an S-video connection. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I haven't been able to figure out how to make connections to record from my TV. I've investigated available hardware in local stores and it doesn't seem to me that anything will do the job. Whatever happened to the common coax connection. Did Phillips forget to add one? . . . . . Good grief!

  1. Connect the video cable to the players VIDEO (CVBS) OUT (yellow) jack and to the TV's VIDEO IN jack.
  2. Connect the audio cable to the players 'AUDIO LEFT' (white) and 'RIGHT' (red) output and the TV's 'AUDIO LEFT/RIGHT' input jacks.
  3. After it is hooked up, you will need to select the TV’s video input channel that corresponds to the jacks connecting the player to the TV.
    • Press STANDBY-ON to turn on the player.
    • Turn ON the TV.
Note: Video Input selection varies for different brands/models of TVs. Consult the user manual or manufacturer or your TV if none of the below is successful.
      • Press channel 2 on your TV. Then press the channel down button to locate the video input channel. (This channel is usually located between the lowest and highest TV channels.)
        OR
      • For some TVs, there may be a button on the TV’s remote control that accesses the video input channel labeled SOURCE, AV or SELECT.
        OR
      • Select the Video Input Channel from the TV’s on-screen menu system.

Does this machine have a coaxiel cable connection on the back for cable TV?

The DVP3340V does not have a tuner so it doesn't have a coax input. It is meant to be connected to a set top cable or satellite box for recording to the VCR and then to the TV or just connect it to the TV for watching a video.

For details, see the manuals and documentation here: http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=DVP3340V/17&scy=us&slg=en

I hope this helps.

Cannot view tv program while recording on VCR

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, pls set the Samsung LCD TV to the Source selection as if watching a playback evgen if you are going to do a recording.

If that does not work, pls postback manner of connection (cabling) from Cox digital cable system to Philips DVD/VCR to Samsung LCD TV LN-T3253HX/XAA .

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

CONNECTING DVD/VCR TO CABLE BOX & TV ETC

If using 3 color RCA (r/w/y) the red and white is audio and should go into your stereo under video or AUX. The yellow is the only video cable you need, that should go to your TV aux in or video1 or video2. You can also put all 3 colors into the tv and then run another red/white OUT to the stereo AUX in and have stereo sound for whatever you are watching.

Setting up DVD/VCR

Depends how you have connected to the TV.

You will need to set your TV to the relevant socket you have connected the DVD/VCR into.

S-Video, Component , composite etc

These will be EXT 1 , EXT 2 or AV 1, AV 2 etc.

Well fbyrd95 goodluck. I have checked out the pages they offer for help. You will need to purchase a cable/satellite box to get the channels routed through the vcr. I received one of these for christmas. It is the sorriest excuse for a vcr/dvd combo I have ever seen. If this is bought as a dvd/vcr combo then I would assume that vcr means that it will record. I do not have the receipt or it would be returned. I will never purchase a philips product.
