Hp vectra xe320 only has an agp slot for graphics. if it is not working there is no setting in bios to fix it. make sure your video card is good.if it is then your agp slot is toast and you will have to get a pci slot video card. that is if the pci slots are working. good luck.

You can't enable/disable the AGP slot in your bios unless you have integrated Graphic card inside your motherboard ..

does your previous graphic card work with the motherboard ?

Is there always a free slot for a video card on motherboards that have integrated video cards

Most motherboards have expansion slots, you need to identify the type of expansion slots that are installed eg. PCI. AGP etc.
If your motherboard has an AGP slot (this slot is for graphics card) then purchase an AGP graphics card.
You may need to disable the on-board graphics card in the BIOS setup.

I have an IBM thinkcentre A30 8199 pc desktop with and AGP slot, the bios always read the on board video card . i can`t get any agp card to work on my pc.

Go into the BIOS and disable the on-board video. With the system powered off, turn on the system and hit enter when it says "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter". Alternatively, press F1 on startup. Turn off the system if you get to the login screen and try again. Go through the BIOS menu to enable the AGP slot. (IIRC go to the line for Video and toggle On-board or AGP. My system is a A50p but it's been a while since I put in my video card.) Then exit the BIOS (save your changes) and shut down the system.

Do this step before adding the new card. Make sure that your power supply is sufficient to support the video card (and attach the power cable to the card). Make sure the card is fully seated in the slot.

If you continue to have a problem, go to the site and download the diagnostic program and see if you have a hardware issue with the slot or the card. under Diagnostics in the drop down menu.

I hope this helps.

Whant to know video card compatibility (spec) i whant to use my old hp vectra vl 400 as a living room pc on my 50'' plasma screen and i whant to have a s-video out sorry for my english iam french steve

Bonjour mon ami... I am in Nuve Zealand.. You are going to need an older type card, if memory serves it needs to be AGP, These are a little old for things there days, and while they will output to a TV, the quality is NOT going to be very good... But in saying that you still get acceptable results, i would guess you will use XP SP2, as your OS? This will drive any card you choose well. I have included a link below to help you choose an AGP card, that suits your purpose and price range.. Bon Chance

Wie disabled man die onboard-graphic? Ich möchte eine Radeon X1600 mit 512 MB in den AGP-Slot einsetzen. How disabled the onboard-Graphic? I want use a Radeon X1600 in the AGP-Slot

Just plug in the Radeon video card in the agp slot and the system will automatically detect the new video card and disable the onboard-graphics.

AGP support

Any AGP video card will work on a motherboard that has an AGP slot. Both the card and the slot have nothces with AGP. If the card has no notches then it is not AGP.

AGP slot has a problem. is there a diagnostic program for this

Some motherboards have an area in the Setup (BIOS) where you can select AGP/PCI/Onboard
go into your setup and see how the option is set.

Verify that the PSU is supplying sufficient amount of power required.

Check that DirectX, video and chipset drivers used, are compatible/current...
other than that see if one of your friends has one to lend to you and test it with that...
hope this helped please leave a rating...thank you...

Compaq s4020WM AGP Questions

I don't think there's a 8x AGP card made that would not work at 4x, and any 4x capable AGP slot should handle an 8x card. AGP 1.0 (x2) signals at 3.3V AGP 2.0 (x4) signals at 1.5V AGP 3.0 (x8) signals at 0.8V
