I need to know what wires connect to plug?i keep shorting out

The green wire is the ground and connects to the rounded pin on the plug. The red wire connects to the 120V power and the black (or white) wire is the neutral. If you have no red wire it is whatever is left after the black (or white) and green are connected. The neutral and the black may connect to the same place in the tool but the purpose of the ground is to keep you from being shocked if the 120V connection inadvertently touches the case of the tool. In the tool make sure the green is connected to the case of the tool,

My projector has lines on the screen. new bulb didn't help

If this projector is connected by Component Video (3 or 5 wires) instead of HDMI, the most common color related problems are caused by having one of the 3 video cables (Red, Blue or Green) with a bad connector. If everyone is a green smurf the problem is with the red cable. If everyone is a red smurf the problem is the blue cable. If the green was bad you wouldn't see anything.
Another possibility is if the green is plugged into the yellow jack instead of green jack on the projector, you could see what you are describing.
If everything checks out, take the projector to a repair facility.
If you are connected by an HDMI cable, (combined with the fact you mentioned vertical lines not horizontal) then take the projector to a repair facility.
All of this assumes that you don't just have a bad Cable Box or Blu-ray player or Home Theater Receiver. (The source)

Red CRT is dim....

Yes I did. You will need to get a service manual for this TV set to trace the voltage coming from the sweep power supply. If this is a problem that is new after you replaced the convergenbce4 board, you for sure have a broken wire or connection somewhere in the set. Have seen this happen may many times after a novice repairs a TV set. Good Luck

Picture background is Red Sony KP-57wv700

Is it a reddish tint or the picture is just red? Did it just happened, or you are just noticing a gradual change? Reddish tint: Blue and/or green CRTs are getting weaker. More likely the green CRT. Unplug the unit and somehow remove the back cover, etc. to get a direct view of the CRTs. Use a flashlight to inspect each CRT through its lens. CRTs with excessive wear will show a definite "burn" mark where the picture forms. Compare the center CRT (green) with the other ones. Normal wear in all three tubes is expected. What is important is to notice the difference. A significant wear in one means it has to be replaced, but usually all three have to be replaced in order to get the right purity. This is a major overhaul, and unless the TV has a sentimental value, it's not worth it. Picture just red: Green and blue CRTs not firing. This is easily observed by running the TV with the back cover removed. Probably a loose connection, but you will need the manual to trace it. You could gently tap the chassis while the TV is running and see if this restores the blue and green CRTs.
