Since you have Cyan toner in places where it should not be then the only possible cause is a defective Cyan Toner cartridge. I worked on one just last week where the customer complained about Magenta toner on their prints. I also noticed Magenta toner on the Transfer Belt just as you see Cyan toner on the Transfer Belt. I replaced the Magenta Toner Cartridge and everything cleared up nicely. The Transfer Belt Unit can also cause similar problems but it would not be ONLY one color like Cyan. It would be a mixture of all colors. My bet is replace the Cyan toner and you will be fine. If you have an old empty one just shake it up a bit and try it as well. This might allow you to verify before buying a new cartridge.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
My co-worker managed to get the UPC drum back in by prodding the toner cartridge (which was too close and thus blocking the UPC drum) slightly to the side. After the UPC drum was back in she closed the printer, went through the menu that allows the toner cartridges to be moved for removal/replacement. She removed the toner cartridge, got the UPC drum out, removed the transfer belt, cleaned it and put everything back into place. My printer is now back in working order! And I owe her lunch, big time! Should I ever have to do this again, I will remember to remove one toner cartridge first.
If the line is one specific color, then change the corresponding toner cartridge. (You may be able to see the line on the drum in the toner cartridge.) If the line is a mix of colors, then it is probably either the transfer belt or the fuser. In either case, you could replace the whole printer for about the same cost as repair.
This error can arise when the door on the right-hand side of the printer, the part you open in order to replace the toner cartridges, is not correctly closed. Close the top right-hand section first and then close the door on the right-hand side firmly (slamming it if necessary) and then check that all edges look correctly aligned. That should solve the problem. Incorrect shutting of these parts has always been the cause of this error on our Samsung CLP-600N laser printers and we have several of them.
hi guys.. iam Aqeel from pakistan. i've just solved that stucking problem today and tellining u guys who are facing such problems over thr. All you need to do are two steps: 1- detach the paper tray and push it back correctly. 2- open front door and remove toner cartridges, on left inner side u may see a light sensor which detects the toner cartridges.. simply clean this section by a small cotton bud. and left side of toner unit thr is a sensor door, behind that door there is also a light sensor bulb, which needs cleaning by a cotton bud.
thats all i hope this will help u fixing that problem. bbyee
It sounds like you are having an issue with your fusing assembly. Here's the check you need. Measure the distance from the original print on the page and the exact spot where the repeat ghosting (same spot) appears on the page again. Here's the distances that identify the part having an issue. My guess and experience with this printer says it's probably fuser. Seen a lot of 2600n printers with image ghost problems and almost all are fuser related.
2.22" or 56.6mm = Fuser Upper Film
2.47" or 62.8mm = Fuser Lower Roller (Usually Backside)
2.97" or 75.4mm = Toner Cartridge - Drum (Usually One Color)
0.97" or 24.7mm = Toner Cartridge - Developer Roller
1.05" or 26.7mm = Toner Cartridge - Primary Charge Roller
2.15" or 54.5mm = ETB - Transfer Belt (Big Belt on Door)
If it should be the Fuser or Transfer Belt, consider not replacing the part as the minimum cost for either (part only) is $105.00 before shipping. The better alternative is to jump on Ebay and buy a HP refurb or new machine MINUS the supplies. They come with the Transfer belt and fuser. They are cheaper for the full machine than the replacement part. They average about $65.00 thru $90.00 landed.
Buxie, first off you have voided your warrenty, secondly
If marks repeatedly appear on the printed side of the page at even intervals: • Clean the inside of the printer. See “Cleaning the Inside of the Printer” on page 5.7. After cleaning the inside of the printer, if you still have the same problems, install a new toner cartridge of the problem color. See “Replacing Toner Cartridges” on page 5.3. • Parts of the printer may have toner on them. If the defects occur on the back of the page, the problem will likely correct itself after a few more pages. • The fusing assembly may be damaged. Contact a service representative.
If horizontally aligned color or black streaks or smears appear: • A toner cartridge may be installed improperly. Remove the toner cartridge and reinsert. • A toner cartridge may be defective. Install a new toner cartridge. • If the problem persists, the printer may require repair. Contact a service representative.
SXPRESS- It is normal to have to replace it after that because the starter cartridges are rated for 1500 pages but that is at only 5% page coverage and most people print alot higher coverage than that, and the replacements cover 2000 pages again @ 5% page Coverage
"install transfer belt" message" appeared right after black toner was relpaced with a non samsung toner(new chip too)--installation of new transfer belt did not solve problem--- i went back and reinstalled the original samsung chip into the toner cartridge---the "install transfer belt" message is gone and the printer works but has a "low toner" message----i guess i learned my lesson the hard way---anyone in the market for a new transfer belt???........wj
Most of the time when I find this happening on a printer, not just Ricoh's it turns out to be the PCU (photo conductor unit). The color PCU is one unit and the black is a seperate unit. Hope this helps.
